IIRC, the reason you see so few Maleqo'te is that many of them switched to Viera when they came out.

1:25 I created a male viera and in the first 20 minutes of gameplay, the first male viera I saw was literally a copy of my character, but the hair color was slightly brighter, I felt awful lol.

I actually was a Female Roe for 2 years, from Heavensward to half of endwalker, but then female wrothgars came around and I switched to them, really damn nice, but sometimes I miss my old fem Roe, miss being the biggest lady in the lobby XD, but I also like that I'm not? I sometimes felt a bit wrong being so big all the time, there was times I had a team of miqotes, hyurs or lalas, and I just... Stand out so damn much, just due to my size, it's nice when I'm playing well, but when I f up it only makes me feel worse XD so... I enjoyed my time with fem Roes, but I'm only getting mine back if I get enough money to make an alt with story and class skips, just to have her sitting there for when I feel like playing her hah

I rather give Hyur a 9/10 because 1. both Hyur clans have different faces, emotes and its a size difference. 2. Less clipping issues 3. Gear is actually mesh with their bodies especially Midlanders. 4. In RP Midlanders actually have more freedom.

Elezen male here and fairly new to the game (5 days in) and I just stumbled on this video! As I'm getting into the game itself, I would say my OC would be the inquisitive type; that's where his shyness comes from because he's analysing his surroundings and coming up with a logical point for each scenario he's encountered. So far, all interactions I've had with other races have been extremely nice, and I'm looking forward to investing a lot of time into playing the game and interacting with as many others players as possible!

if people have issues with things that effect the whole MMO genre, it doesnt make the complaint any less valid.

FF14 is a final fantasy game first, mmo second. so you should go into it expecting the story to be a major part ARR and the ARR patch quests can be a slog, if you arent drawn in by them after the first 25-30 levels or so, i recommend just skipping dialog and cutscenes, then watching a lore vid on summery of ARR before you start heavensward. because you dont wanna burn yourself out the main draw is the community for me tho, because its an MMO, which is inherently a social genre, so you want to have a good community behind the game

Male Viera here. I tried female Miqote, female elezen, even played as femal Roegadyn for month. But all of them let me quit the game. Now i came back because of my boyfriend and tried an other female Au Ra but... It doesn't click. Last try, making a male character. And Yes he is perfekt. He is the part edgy part naive character i can imagen as the silent protagonist. Cheers.

I started out as a Hrothgar (Steam had the sale for the Endwalker Package of FFXIV when I started so I grabbed that as I hopped into the game) and welp, just love how…guess the word is how “casual” they feel, like they’re just that guy that has a good time, also liked the Beard and Stache combo they had compared to other races. It’s just a neat Fantasy type race in general to. Really love the vibes overall, that and almost every interaction I’ve had with other Hrothgar players has been super chill, it’s just overall pleasant.

surprisingly, playing a male miqo gets u to feel pretty unique. not a lot of the guys look the same (except the bards and graha impersonators lol) so we get to feel a lil special if we dont pick the cat girl 🐲

As a Female Au Ra player, I can confirm that I die to so many mechanics... because I'm distracted by typing 😅 I also compliment strangers on their glams.

I mainly play Lala cause MSQ is like a comedy that you still get the same emotional attachment as any other race. There is always something great about in game cutscenes where your NPC buddies suddenly snap their neck to meet your eyeline. That and yeah tank armor on a Lala is just always funny. That said I have a very much raised religious but kicked for rainbow reasons that t hat results in me getting a big ol dopamine kick from being overtly nice to random people. Which despite being a sprout and having 5 gil to my name, translates to a lot of crafted goods and goods going to other usually more sprouty sprouts

I play as a male keeper of the moon miqote with dark blue hair. I am shy and quiet, Im not edgy though, at least I dont think. I have run alot of dungeons where the tank was a Lalafell, I rarely see lalas in dps or healer positions, from my experiance anyway.

When i first started playing FFXIV about a month ago i met a random high level lalafell and they just said "new player spotted" and gave me like, 100k gil and a gravel golem (if they ever see this i wanna say thank you so much you are probably the only reason I've never had any issues with gil so far and i love you)

Throw back to that male/female lalafel who stole my ears off my rabbit and held them for ransom. Chaotic is an understatement for lala players
