Excellent fundamentals techniques and I was at BoxNBurn at the old Santa Monica gym during mid Covid and continued to learn to box ever since that day. Your videos are educational to learn and still continuing to learn as a boxing practitioner. Thanks again and will look into the Mitt class workshop.

Never lead with a hook you're open for counter. Especially from distance these should be close to your opponent same as uppercuts never from distance close to your opponent.

@@DEZINE5 you maybe just baiting you with his lead hook or lead upper cut. As he make you believe that his lead punch makes himself open , you will not notice that you are the one who is open when you execute your counter.

@@brucele2776 I know better especially since my cousin Ike Williams former World Lightweight Champion of the world taught me and his coach-trainer my cousin Jesse Goss did as well never fall for fronts or bait since 1962. Jesse Goss two son's coached-trained me as well my cousin Barry Goss and Sammy Goss. They all taught traps and how to spot them and avoid them. Then create traps for your opponents. I know what a baited trap looks like and how to identify a trap taught by the BEST. I learned well and have coached-trained other's what I was taught NEVER fall FOR bait THEY lead to traps, traps lead TO mistakes, mistakes lead to defeat, defeat means losses.

Backing up you trap yourself pivots are best defense.

both effective, step back allows you to counter quickly, step back then pivot too, plenty of options mate, all depends on the situation

Is best for the thumb to be up or down on the hook.
@GlennHolmesLA
@GlennHolmesLA 4 күн бұрын
either, thumb down = bit more advanced and gets the knuckles on the shot more, thumb up = i always teach to beginners / newer boxers because it requires less wrist rotation so a bit less risk for tweaked wrists etc. hope that helps mate

Ive got a buddy i do mitts for. He is about 350 lbs and not in great shape. He gets tires and punches light for long periods of time. He will get random bursts of energy and blast the cross. It darn near pulls my shoulder out. How do you handle that?
