Hello, I live in Montreal. I have a Volkswagen T5 diesel van. The fuel injectors on diesel 5-cylinder engines are broken. Can you fix them? thank you

Excellent video instruction! 👍👍 I heard the PD maf codes are commonly a wiring problem. I don’t know any more about it except that the hanging loop in the harness below the fuel temp sensor and p.s reservoir, can have salt water sitting in it.

Helped a lot! I am having that problem now and already changed the tensioner 😄 Thought that maybe the belt was too lose. It makes a terrible racket at idle with the tensioner rattling and the belt squeaking.

cool video, thanks. I'm trying to do a "basic settings" procedure (as in your video) for my DSG6 transmission in my Seat Altea 2005 2.0 FSI. But for some reason my VCDS pages/groups dont match. I have a HEX-V2 adapter cable. my VCDS is version 23.3.1 (sop newer then the video). For some reaon my ATF temps are in group 008 and 010 and not in 019 like they show in the video. 019 actually just shows ERROR. Then I went into "basic settings" and looked up group 061 and it just shows ERROR. Neither are the other groups they mention in the video. What am I doing wrong? any ideas?

Hey I just did a DMF change and a service while I was at it. I noticed very fine micro size glitter in the fluid. At 182K (Miles) the transmission runs fine, Perfect even. I can’t find any service history on the DSG. Should I be worried about the glitter? Or is that just clutch material?

Its not abnormal for a bit but assuming its missed 4 changes its probably accumulated for awhile. I'd maybe cut this interval short and see what its like as you dont get it all out during a service

Do you recommend the DSG tune with the MR Tuning Stage 2 or is it okay to run it without it? Also when i buy the power gate 4 and tune does he send the tune through email immediately or do i have to send them info from my stock car? Thanks!
@JoshsJettas
@JoshsJettas 4 күн бұрын
According to MR Tuning its fine without DSG tuning, i did notice it seemed to stay in high gears longer resulting in flywheel shudder. He will send the powergate which required you to read your stock ecu, although since this video he now has an "insta-tune" where itll send the file back in a half hour or so. Either way flash the file on first before removing any components

Thanks Josh for the video ! I have an oil cooler housing leak, but oil is in my coolant reservoir ( full of black oil). While taking the air box off I saw oil all under it on back side, also look like some in the air filter hose and bottom hose looks soaked. Will an oil cooler housing leak cause all that ? How can I safely clean of that oil too ? Thanks
@JoshsJettas
@JoshsJettas 4 күн бұрын
It could, these swell from the heat im sure of it but over torqueing your oil filter will cause it to crack and I'd believe oil would leak out easily as well as cross contaminate. The reservoir might be hard to get clean (i usually replace when i do this on tractors), but they sell cleaners. Another option is fill the coolant system with water and dish washer detergent (washer detergent wont bubble like soap will but will still break down the oil). Flush flush and flush again, coolant hoses don't like oil.

@scottl5000
@scottl5000 13 күн бұрын
Could one culprit be the door lock switch on the outside handle? My battery drain started happening when the external lock button on driver door (left side USA) stopped working. I looked at a used handle, I got from eBay -- I payed off the button cover from the outside and saw the surface mounted tactile button was corroded and now a dead short. I remove the button, sanded the contacts, then tested it on my door's harness and it appears the battery drain stopped. I couldn't read all the code with my Innova scanner even with the VW VAGCOM upgrade.

I've got to revisit this shortly on my personal Touareg, i've got a couple dead door handles as well. I dont use the keyless entry though as I dont usually lock the doors so if I've got handle issues I'll probably just unplug them

I got my plate a month ago, I may try installing it today, my passat with ckra looks to have room to add my cat filter infront of the oem filter so I can use both, I think a simple solution to know if my filter is plugging, a pressure switch to ground, run the wire and splice into my oil pressure switch wire, I think 50 psi should work, then if I ever have less than 50 between the cat filter and the cp4, my oil pressure warning would come on in the dash. Simple cheap and no need to add anything in the dash.

@JoshsJettas I found a fuel heater, I already have an espar coolant heater, so if I run coolant lines and an extra pump to the back, I can mount a fuel heater before the filter, insulate the filter and should be fine. I think ill use a 1r0749 and be good for 200,000 miles.

While it does happen, people make these pumps to be way worse than they actually are. Maintenance is KEY. Make sure you're getting the best fuel, regularly changing your fuel filters, and running an additive for additional lubricity. My CKRA passat at 325k works excellent and is on its original HPFP. Definitely will be doing the kit though! Hopefully get plently more life out of it!

I still haven’t been able to source a failed pump if that gives you any indication. I think the main thing is the cost catches people eyes, you won’t hear about the 99 that run fine but the 1 that fails will be everywhere

Max fuel temp is 130c, tried a bunch of resistors and the ecu wont read over 130. I think its best to stay just below this as sometimes the ecu doesnt like the sensor being maxed and will sense a fault putting it back to the default temp of 40c 👍

They know what they are doing when they design cars. They don't want them to last. Especially trucks the entire steel is exposed and finished in 7 years if it wasn't cared for.
@JoshsJettas
@JoshsJettas 14 күн бұрын
They have definitely gotten worse, you see 5 year old trucks with bubbling rockers/cab corners. Same thing with the foam in the fenders only on tdi models for “sound deadening”. Every TDI you see has the top of the arch rotted out because of it
