Hi, I have two questions. 1. What Creo version do you use? 2. How did you create the holes?

That can be done. However, the goal of this video was to show how to create a particular part numbering within the BOM.

Great video! Thanks for the tip! Is it possible to do this with rectangular patterns as well? It's kind of annoying to have to resize the datum axes whenever a dimension or scale changes.

Hello! And when I have more than 300 assemblies that use a component and I need to rename that component, will I have to open the 300 assemblies and then rename them? This is not viable... do you know a other solution? Thanks a lot
@jbijnens6 ай бұрын
This was a solution for my students :) In your particular case, I would advise to use a PDM/PLM system like Windchill. If that is something that is out of reach then perhaps a script using creoson (www.creoson.com/) can be another option.

First of all, congratulations on the initiative, I'm just starting out at Creo and I have a question that I can't solve yet. How do I import a .SLT/.STP file, then how can I edit it and place it in the plans I want to work on (this is driving me crazy! lol). Is there any way you can help me in this regard? Thank you and congratulations once again

Thank you for your kind words. What do you mean with "place it in the plans I want to work on"? Do you mean datum planes, drawings, ...?

@jbijnens Жыл бұрын
This video was a response to a question by one of my students. As at our university we don't have a PDM/PLM system, I haven't bothered renaming the common name also. Do you have a particular use case without PDM/PLM where it is useful to also rename the common name? If you do, I would love to hear about it.

@@Stocjon1985 I've recreated your part in PTC Creo 8.0.4.0 and I couldn't recreate your problem. The end result on my end is every time the same as what can be seen in my video. What you could try is the following Change the drawing option radial_pattern_axis_circle to "yes" in the drawing properties before trying to create the center lines.

I love these videos where 75% of the video is set up and 25% is actually doing the operation.

The reason why the intro is so long (the set-up) is that all my videos are meant for my students. The majority of them needs some kind of "rehearsal" how to get to the point where you can actually do the operation.

Can you give details on what you are doing instead of a video of you just doing it
@jbijnens3 жыл бұрын
Almost all the videos I place here on KZbin are created to answer specific questions of my students. I have very little spare time so most of them are created in a hurry with no or very few annotations added to it. I guess I must change this for future videos. The subject of this video is how to create symmetry lines on a rectangular shape placed on a drawing. If you can't use the datum points in the sketcher this can be a very cumbersome task. Here we do use the datum points in the sketcher to have a quick and easy way of adding those symmetry lines to the rectangle.

I have a question. I'm using Creo with some ADD-ons by the company ABB. I have made a simple framework with a few different profiles. Then I make a drawing, I make a BOM table and I get so far as to press the Repeat Region and then Attributes, as shown in one of your videos, but nothing happens. The BOM table does not get filled in. Similarly, when I try to create Ref Balloons they don't show up. ABB's automatic part list works fine when I model parts normally and assemble them, but with the Framework add-on it doesn't work. Does this have something to do with Top-level or Part-level settings?
@jbijnens3 жыл бұрын
Did you do an "Update Tables"? It is the button to the right of the repeat region button.

If you don't speak or identify which mouse button to hit, the video is useless. Many times the stumbling block to people using Creo is what mouse button / cntrl-button is needed.
@jbijnens4 жыл бұрын
I don't understand this remark. If you look at the bottom of the video you can see "keymon" which shows every mouse button and key that is used while using Creo.
@matthewbeasley77654 жыл бұрын
@@jbijnens Thanks, I obviously missed it at the bottom of the video. I find that one of the problems with the Creo support is they don't bother to mention the combination of keys and buttons. The dimensioning is the most extreme example, they don't bother to mention that it is the middle button and then middle button plus crtl.

Good video... I am using a student edition Creo, not sure if it comes with TOL Tables that can be retrieved. Thanks
@jbijnens3 жыл бұрын
I think it does. In my videos I'm using templates that I have created for my students. Within these templates I have loaded the tol tables they used the most so they are available by default. If you want to use tol tables in your model, you can load them if you go to File -> Prepare -> Model properties Then scroll to "Tolerancing standard" and click on the "change" button. Then select the option "Tol Tables" and select the option "Retrieve". You can select the tol table you want and load it into your model. These tol tables will be saved together with the model.
