Hi. I’m a Gen X; born in 1970. My childhood was an interesting one. My young childhood was very sheltered as I lived on Army bases until about 13 years old. At that hat time I went to live with my mother. From then on I had a very typical Gen X childhood. Larch- key kid and all. I had a job at 14 years old; moved out at 17 years old . From what I saw with my peers, for the most part, I was only a year early.

Our GenX music is indisputably FIRE from any genre.

Gen X has more common sense and backbone and work ethics..

i am gen x and we had the best muscle cars the best music and the best clothing styles. we got to grow up old school and acclimate to todays technology. and we had the best muscle cars and music and clothes lol most of us still have child hood friends as well.

The best thing about Gen X is......we don't care about what generation was best! It was just a label attributed to us which we just went along with. Yes we watch videos like this but its only to check in to see the nonsense you post and pre generations seem to put value in. We just find it funny

As a Gen X growing up, I remember kids were seen but not heard and during the holidays or family gathering adults had their own table and the kids had their own table. We were not allowed to interrupt the adults when having a conversation.

This is hard for me to listen to. The voices and cadences are off putting. Not interested. Snarky millenials INSTANTLY turn me off, my chikdren are millennial and they know better ❤❤😂

I think that each generation has its own qualities and a lot to offer to each other we can learn from each other

1977 here We were made to be seen not heard. ALSO I think the need to tell the difference not only in just the difference in Generation but different races in that generation! WE all ended up the same but how we got there is WAYYY different.. LIKE I'm Puerto Rican adopted by a black Christian family compared to the white kids who had a little money compared to a Mexican family just as poor as we were etc etc

As a millennial I can say I have a great appreciation for Generation X. If there was a fight I'm on team Generation X because you're good with building and having fun without technology.❤

OMG, the father was killing me the entire time. I'd drink a beer with him anytime. I am was born at the tail end of the Gen X generation, summer 1975.

GenX here, I always chalk our apathy up to being raised by boomers who spent their school days doing nuclear bomb drills and fed a steady diet of the first round of post apocalyptic movies.. we were effectively trained to believe that we wouldn't make it to adulthood because nukes or night of the comets.. all while we are unsupervised at action park and just sitting in our rooms thinking about things trying to figure it out on our own while arguing that all we wanted was a pepsi mom wouldn't give us but we'll be okay just leave us alone..

Well educated, not better educated. GenX was the bridge from past to future. Biggest changes in a hundred years.

This video does put to bed the claim that Generation X didn't have any Millennial children (there's at leastwise one Gen Xer who's claiming that his generation didn't raise Millennials.)

Gen X (b 1968) Gen X and I really find myself being extra resourceful when working on a project, I can use todays tech but if/when there is a tech issue, I can find other ways to finish it. Communication was key with friends, parents and parents of ny friends. This helps when dealing with many different types of people. I can survive indoors and outdoors and actually choose to sign off from tech and even people on some weekends. I call it 'checking out' and nobody calls or knocks on my door. I need the time alone to decompress and it doesn't drive me crazy. Not having that downtime is what drives me crazy. While I fought for work life balance, I don't know if I truly got to to do it with my career the way I wanted to. However, I do believe that Gen X did start that path and hopefully the other generations are taking advantage of it. But not to the point where my social security is at risk. I also believe Gen X were more open to diversity of other cultures and lifestyles. We definitely forged that path forward. Sadly, recent political environment has taken us back quite a ways with social issues. That work, sadly, may never be done. It is up to Gen X to show Millenials and the others that protesting using social media is great BUT, the feet MUST ALWAYS hit the pavement also! ALWAYS. AND VOTE. VOTE. VOTE. VOTE. Every single vote counts and so does every down ballot candidate. Don't just do the big election every 4 years. It is YOUR CIVIC DUTY! Sorry, gen x hat was on too tight.😊

My mom was home and I had many friends that moms stayed home too. Ours moms married good providers…. That were proud to take care of the family

Us GEN X ‘s lived thru the whole technology surge….. We remember life very well before cell phones and internet and social media

Gen X created the Millennials. Being latch-key kids with minimal support, constant threats of the things that were going to kill us (acid rain, nuclear war, kidnappings with the missing kids on the milk cartons serving as a constant warning), minimal acknowledgement of accomplishments, and the fear of the wooden spoon created the drive that led to millennials. We didn't want them to suffer from the great discomforts that made us so freaking cynical, so there was an attempt to create much more support. You get a trophy just for showing up because life is hard. We tried to compensate for what we didn't have and so badly wished for as kids.

Gen Alpha are all already in therapy. Their millennial parents are to blame. There’s still hope for Gen Z. Gen X is fine, is not, and don’t care either way-we just want to party hardy, chill, and hang ten!

We Gen Xers are Boomers little savages. Are generation are like the lost boys in Peter Pan. Our parents, well we can sum them up with this, On the national news every night at 10pm they would ask, "Do you know where your children are?", or "...are up to" something like that, lol

I think partially, Gen X parents raise the Millennial children somewhat differently, as Gen Xer's were free to roam and competitive, thanks to their hard and always working Boomer parents, wo pretty much left the Gen Xer's to fend for themselves. So like most parents, then want to raise their kids differently than how they were raised. Now we look back and we see that it wasn't bad that we were Lackey kids as it better prepared us to be successful adults.

Love your video, I will continue to watch. But as a Gen Xer, what generation is better…. Who gives a funk?! Not me.
