First of all thank you for your brilliant videos on Roland tutorials. I have a question for which I could not find an answer on the internet. When I hold the CTRL SELECT button and at the same time turning the CTRL knob any of the tracks (as you did in this video), it changes the amounts/velocity of ALL the effects/parameters AUTOMATICALLY I go through in between. It results in a weird sound, because lots of parameters (coarse, bit reduction, LFO,....etc) changed at the same time when chosing my desired effect, so I have to go Shift+Inst to change back the unintentional changes, what makes my workflow much more difficult and time consuming. Maybe I have something wrongly set up in Global settings? I just want to assign a single parameter to CTRL knob without any changes. I uopdated to the latest firmware. Any suggestion how to fix it? Thanks!

I believe you still need an SD card in the TR8s for this to work. That's an important step!

You're right. I just tried it out. That should be mentioned.

Surely that goes without saying, as no SD card = no storage?

I just realized it is also possible to set the mode of the Assignable Outs to trigger. That means you can trigger several external instruments from the TR-8S, not only from CC & RC. Maybe it's a new interesting topic to extend your tutorial series. 😉 Your channel is my TR-8S Wiki, thanks a lot for your work!

as a new TR8s owner these videos are useful for learning the functions of this amazing machine. my only criticism so far, at least in this video is the channel volume. I understand what you're doing and can follow but the volume on the clap track you added was barely audible even with headphones. I think when you are focused on certain features of the unit the corresponding channels should be set high enough to hear the changes. besides that thank you so much for these videos!

Hey! I have one question, bro. Is it necessary to save these functions into the kid or pattern mode to be saved when I want to restart the TR8s or where shoud i save it - kid or pattern? By the way, I haven't owned it so far, but I consider changing my TR8 (old one). Your turorials are the best and totally clear for us!

Do you know if you can save the settings? Because when you change kits, the output is back to MIX. Great video btw!

I have one. I also had a 606 and 707 in the 80s, both insanely easy to use and barely needed a manual. I know this is hugely more powerful but the clutter they pack into this machine (they'd call it 'bloatware' on other devices) is INSANE. The amount of preset rhythms is so off-putting. And frankly this video didn't make me feel much better - no diss on the maker. I mean how hard can they make it to just WRITE YOUR OWN DRUM TRACK???

Hi bro just subscribed i have a question, i just got the donner dmk25 pro, and wish to link it up with roland tr8s is, how do i do it. Your help would ve appreciated really like your vids 🎉 👍🏻🥂
@choppedstrandaudio4561Ай бұрын
Hey, thank you :) Well, as far as I know. The Donnor is an midi keyboard. So you can use a DAW and sync the midi with the PC and the tr8s.
@tribeoflife1046Ай бұрын
@choppedstrandaudio4561 appreciated but unsure how yo link the keyboard with the tr8s. Also i am having to toggle with the sound. Any advice thanks

@richfromtangАй бұрын
Why do you keep making videos where you are staring at the camera and talking, instead of just showing the machine and operations? Your first videos were the best... before you started trying to promote your face in them. We're here for the TRS8 instructions, not you, or your face. Get yourself out of the videos and replace it with the machine we're all here to learn about. Show the machine and the functions and stay off camera, please! Stop trying to make this a vlog about you. We're here for the machine, not you.
@richfromtangАй бұрын
Why do you have to do this? Why are you staring at the camera and talking, instead of showing the machine and operations? No one needs videos like this where people talk at the camera, it's just off-putting.
@richfromtangАй бұрын
The videos you made, without sitting and talking to the camera, were the best ones. No one needs to know who you are or see your face for the videos to be good and helpful. Please go back to that format. The last thing youtube needs is another channel with some guy sitting too close to the camera and talking directly at it. Show the machine, show the thing you are talking about. Don't just sit there and talk to the camera, it really sucks.
