Beat from Scratch - No Techno - No upbeat - Roland TR8s

Creating a Slow Beat with the Roland TR-8S for beginners. This tutorial will guide you step-by-step on how to create a slow beat with all 8 Variations and chaining pattern together to create a longer song. I also modify the basseline with motion recording to have a more interesting sound. I will use my MIDI Keyboard to create a smooth jam at the end.

I personally feel that making good music comes from knowing a few pieces of gear like the back of your hand, rather than knowing about and owning tons of different pieces of gear and knowing only a little about each. Hello! I had a question, do you know if the tr8s is able to be set up as a sort of control surface for DAW? I have two tr8s machines right now but have been looking at some control surfaces but would prefer if I didn’t have to buy one.

Hey, as far as I know this is not possible unfortunately. I tried to use the TR-8s as a midi controller... did some research and so far that is not possible. There was a forum somewhere where a guy used a diy software for this.

I have to apologise, since the update to 2.5 it is possible to use the TR8s as a midi control surface with your DAW :)

Is it possible to change all the instruments/sliders to different drums? Or are the percussion sections mapped to only percussion instruments...? Thanks man!

It is possible to change the instruments to other instruments over. However, some of them have I would say limited functions. It also depends on your instrument sound you have chosen.
