Fun bikes! Magnets in the rotor should be checked. I resecured mine with Permatex sleeve retainer and used aircraft fuel tank sealant to encapsulate them.

Thanks for watching a commenting. I would say its close, but the FZ09, and I had both bikes set up, was about 60-70 lbs lighter. That and its short wheel base certainly made it feel faster.

Hi I know this is old bit I've just picked up a k3 I wanna strip back. How did you over come the ram air issue ? Cheers.
@DougZ732 жыл бұрын
Glad you watched. I never overly worried about the ram air, as it does not come into play unless you're doing a serious amount over 100 mph. As far as bugs and stuff, I just put some mesh material over those ports similar to the mesh that comes on the air tubes and goes in the track fairings. Hope that helps.

Yeah this is more 2006, I’ve got a pearescent 2002 rock springs Tara but not quad link. I have a 2006 rift zone which is a quad link, all the Marin full sus bikes are great and was pretty much market leader here in uk for the middle/upper market. To be honest I’ve owned a lot of different branded bikes over the last 35+ years and always come back to Marin and Kona 👍

Thanks for watching first of all. I took off the clip-ons years ago. When I used the bike for track days and for doing twisty rides in the mountains of Pennsylvania Bucks county,, the clip-ons were great . But once I was using the bike for sport touring and daily commuting 3 to 4 days a week I did not want to be bent over so I mounted a pair of Tag handlebars.

Thanks for sharing the video! How's the bike holding up? Just purchased one of the newer ones (Gravity HD) and waiting for it to arrive. Anything you'd change or anything to watch out for? Think you'd buy it again? It's hard to beat anything at that price, especially for the components...
@DougZ733 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. It is holding up well. As I updated....the only small complaint I have, is the paint chips too easily. Like you mentioned, you buy for the components at that price point, not the frames and forks. One could easily swap everything over to a better frame and fork and still be ahead of the game.

Hi, could you give me some details on modifying the top clamp for the handle bar risers you have? Thanks.
@DougZ734 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for watching. I appreciate it. you should be able to find plenty of videos on KZbin or information on the internet stunt bars sport bike. The gist of my build was besides just drilling and mounting the bars and risers, I fabricated solid stock aluminum to fit in the recesses of the top triple, and welded it in, making it much stronger. Be advised drilling these parts on your motorcycle might make it unfit for road use and you should proceed at your own risk.

Thanks for watching. I was never able to title it in NJ, so I had to sell off all the good street fighter bits. It sat for years in my shed. Sold it to my cousin, and he blew it up on second track day. Typically Zook 600 valve drop & crunch. Common for those years.
