1999 was just THE vibe. The darkness, the realism, the originalness is just better. The 2011 version makes them look like any other shounen. The 1999 looks so much more original. I watched the 2011 version first and loved it. Then i watched the 1999 version, i was blown away. Everything is way darker, emotional, cold. Especially the scenes like Killua vs Johness, Kurapika vs Uvogin etc. The 2011 version cencored the Killua fight alot and made the scene longer. But it reality and the manga, he just passes by him in a blink, making it look way faster and colder. And realistic. We dont get no emo music or weird lights. Just walking then boom. Heart crushed. And in the Kurapika fight, the 2011 version just brushes it off, not making it seem like a big deal. But the 1999 version captures that dread Kurapika is feeling after killing for the first time. And for revenge too. And we can see shots of him talking with his master about it during the fight, making it more emotional as Kurapika was drowning in an indiscribable emptiness (i had to lmfao😭) And the way he kills him so quitely and quick shows the heavyness of the scene without too many flattering visuals. The 2011 version's black and white take was great, but didnt really capture the dread Kurapika was feeling. He just killed him and fumbled because of his power, then called Melody and burried him. The 1999 captures the heaviness of the situation as he kneels down, having a little breakdown as he realizes what he has done. This is my opinion tho, ya'll do wtvr!!!

Bullshit Power Fantasy is the "one kick" that Eminence has practiced not just 10,000 times, but 100,000 times. It's not a _parody_ of Isekai so much as it's a *satire* of Isekai (Konosuba is a parody).

As someone who dislike pretty much every isekai except Frieren. Eminence in Shadow is amazingly entertaining. Probably some of the best comedy I've seen alongside Nichijou and Kaguya-sama.

Fun fact: All the apples in this show are fake. If you pay close attention, you can actually see that the actor who played Ryuk is only pretending to bite into and chew on them I think they were made of some kind of foam, to make them easy to hide in costumes and such.

4kids forgot about Bugs Bunny and Batman the animated series they had guns in them. Did they also forget about that some kids parents smoke what was the point. Putting Bele-mere in a dungeon does not make sense since Arlong just got there. The journey on Reverse Mountain and to Whiskey Peak was about 3 episodes and was condensed into one episode. To me all arcs are important. 4kids turned One Piece into a stereotypical pirate show. Oda will never make a stereotypical pirate show. Pirates of the Caribbean came out a year before 4kids dubbed One Piece so kids already new about pirates with guns and drink rum. So what was the point of 4kids taking out the guns and booze. Kids already knew about them. Also kids watched westerns.

Say what you will about 4kids, but between this and Yu-Gi-Oh, a lot of us wouldn't have gotten into anime as early as we did were it not for them
