Thank you! For my novels, I've been writing dystopian just because I love it so much but when it comes to shorter pieces, it varies.

Morning seems to be a special time to write scenes. Do you write an outline before starting a chapter? Your videos are really helpful!

For this novel, I started with a rough idea of where I wanted it to go but I mostly just went with the flow. The downside of that was that I spent a lot more time editing. For my next novel, I'm doing a more detailed outline. Honestly, I'm just trying out different things and seeing what works best for me :)

Writing Down the Bones contains my favorite quote of ALL TIME. It begins with: "Our lives are at once ordinary and mythical." I won't leave the whole thing here because the full quote is about half a page but it's worth a read just for that!

How long did it take you to plan and write the whole novel?

It took me about a year and 5 months but I took a break half way through. It's my first real novel so I was kinda figuring things out as I went :)

A lot of really good choices! I'd recommend Jacob Anderson, he's an actor and musician. He does his music under the name Raleigh Ritchie. He's one of those all around people who is dedicated to every aspect of his work. Another person is Xiran Jay Zhao, they're an author and KZbinr that I really like. I'd really recommend the book Iron Widow, it's got a lot of fantastic world-building and I'm still waiting to the next book to come out!

Have you checked out Whisper of the Heart. It's a Ghibli film and I feel that you could relate to the main character of it quite a bit. It's about how a girl wants to write and be creative and when she backs herself, well I'll let you find out. Its a great watch, some of Miyazaki's best work imo

such a cool video ! Im definitely checking out the new artists . recently i have been into films and the director whose cinematography inspires me the most right now is Satyajit Ray . His work is exquisite!

I know there’s a lot of controversy surrounding her rn, and I’m not trying to defend her but as a multifaceted artist myself Melanie Martinez’s creativity, storytelling and dedication to her craft really inspires me, through music, films, poetry, fashion and visuals as someone who is interested in all these areas aswell.💖🫶
