Writing Down the Bones contains my favorite quote of ALL TIME. It begins with: "Our lives are at once ordinary and mythical." I won't leave the whole thing here because the full quote is about half a page but it's worth a read just for that!

Morning seems to be a special time to write scenes. Do you write an outline before starting a chapter? Your videos are really helpful!

For this novel, I started with a rough idea of where I wanted it to go but I mostly just went with the flow. The downside of that was that I spent a lot more time editing. For my next novel, I'm doing a more detailed outline. Honestly, I'm just trying out different things and seeing what works best for me :)

How long did it take you to plan and write the whole novel?

It took me about a year and 5 months but I took a break half way through. It's my first real novel so I was kinda figuring things out as I went :)
