When I started my last office job I spent the first month and a half speaking very little. Everyone there thought I was really quite in the beginning. What they didn't know was I was mindfully remain silent so I could observe the behaviors of each coworker so I could know how to work each of them to get my job done properly. I observed who was aware and who was distracted. I picked up on those that were destructive and those that would be helpful. I saw how they interacted with each other. I was able to meet each one of them at their level and my interactions with them mirrored the observations that I learned about them. I left that job, it was a toxic environment. However I stayed in contact with them individually and to this day they call on me for different things. Some work related and I get side gigs for it. Others call on me to coach them so they can interact with each other better. I stop by the office now and then, they welcome me with open arms. I am the only former employee that still visits and helps them. My observations have helped to work on the change of culture and continue to help. The progression slow but I remain patient and I see the subtle changes. People want to feel heard in a society that doesn't listen. Hearing them is more that listening to words it's about observing the actions and noticing the small gestures that speak louder than the words being said. Mouths can speak lies but the body holds the truth.

This video is a powerful reminder that true self-respect means knowing when to walk away. The way you framed forgiveness not as a virtue in all cases, but as a potential act of self-betrayal, is deeply thought-provoking. The blend of Stoic wisdom with real-world scenarios makes this message hit hard. Well done!

Thank you! I'm glad the message resonated with you. Self-respect and wisdom go hand in hand, and sometimes walking away is the strongest choice we can make. Appreciate your thoughtful insight!

True kindness is a strength, not a weakness. But when it's given without boundaries, some people will take advantage of it. Stoicism teaches us to be kind wisely-without expecting anything in return and without letting others walk over us.

Great insights! Trust is the foundation of any relationship, and once it's broken by betrayal, rebuilding it is almost impossible. These lessons from Stoic philosophy remind us to value our self-respect and set healthy boundaries. Thanks for sharing this wisdom!

We forgive so we don't carry that betrayal around as baggage. We don't have to "like" the one who betrayed &/or hurt us, or ever trust them again. Walking away is not synonymous with unforgiveness. Forgiveness is refusing to tie yourself to that hurt.

Forgiveness isn't about allowing someone back into your circle it's more about releasing resentment. Holding resentment is damaging to the holder. If I choose to forgive someone it doesn't mean they are allowed back in my life. All of the items mentioned in this will get you rejected from my world, I will not forget the actions but I will forgive in order to become detached from the resentment that I harbor towards them. They no longer exist once I release all emotions I have for them.

I wouldn't say evil, but their toxicity. I recognize these patterns. My brother is only attentive when he gets something or something plays in his favor. My husband and I invited my brother and his family to the sea. But then when it was all over he stopped being in contact. After three months, the phone rang. I didn't pick up. He started writing to me and asking what he did wrong that I don't answer. It is a dirty game that I no longer tolerate today. He doesn't deserve my attention and what more? I set firm boundaries and completely change my own behavior.
