I tried a year or two ago to buy some shares in gwr , they didnt want to know so i gave up .
@mrbaker7443 Жыл бұрын
Maybe there wasn’t a share offer running at that time?
@gloucestershirewarwickshir351 Жыл бұрын
Yes that is correct - we can only sell shares when we have shares to offer. But you can always help us by making a donation or even better join our band of enthusiastic volunteers!

It sounds like the shares are not openly tradeable, so you must rely on new issues by the company...?

Brings back memory's of many years working on these at Immingham TMD , your going into detail on these we hardly ever pulled camshafts just replaced individual split cams and can never recall replacing camshaft chain , they always adjusted ok (bloody awkward though) Use to get loads of split exhaust bellows , internal coolant leaks (bottom liner seals) and the occasional piston disasters then conrod batters its way through liner . Watch the free end drive if its got rad fan clutch fitted as that clutch really hammers it when it cuts in (best to disable it ,leave switched in )

Love this. Seeing the cam shafts ,valve rockers and timing chains on that big English electric v12 brings back memories.

I had the pleasure of seeing the new locos leaving Doncaster Plant, after acceptance inspections at Doncaster they were ferried to the WR two at a time, usually the movement was on a Monday evening, the EE3s were attractive locomotives, BR gloss green, yellow and red Timken axleboxes with brightwork around headcode boxes and cab handrails, the painters were expert, the finish was faultless, the best livery for a 37.

I remember this and other similar locomotives as new when diesel was replacing steam at a rapid rate. Great to see this wonderful locomotive restored and back in use. Well done to everyone involved.

Heading is wrong. It’s actually D6948. Travelled behind it at the WSR diesel gala in 2019. Fantastic locomotive. A credit to everyone involved in the restoration and preservation.

But gloucester warwickshire railway has reopened during lockdown business first day back throughout August 2020 because of Social Distancing from 2 to 1 metre and quarantine rule apart. It has been bored to tears is shame the service was closed for really long time after terrible Coronavirus outbreak and pandemic since mid March 2020. But will be no vaccine yet.

A well balanced and informative communication. It’s great to see a heritage railway taking a pragmatic approach. These are challenging times for heritage railways. I look forward to supporting the GWSR when times allow a safe restart.
