Have you ever damage expensive rod and reel? How do you deal with scratch on your equipment?

Since we are fishing in a rocky area, it is natural for rods to get scratched. Scratches on the edge of the reel spool (where the line touches) can be fatal, so if the scratch is shallow, I use a paper file to remove it. I don't know if this translation is accurate.
4:11 how did you come up with a jig that long and still have a confidence that the fish will hit them?👍 I thought a very long jig like that would use only from the boat for deep sea fishing?

On the other hand, why do you think long jigs can only be used from a boat? Please think about it. If you can throw and move the jig, the bigger the jig is, the more appealing it is and you can use it without any problem!
Nice video and nice Fish!!! Beautiful GT. The spots looked amazing. I've been trying to go to Japan rock fishing for GT, but it is turning out to be a very hard trip to plan. Cheers from Portugal, Pedro

Thanks again for your comments! I'm glad to hear that too, it can be hard to plan for GT in Japan since most of the time it's from Kyushu south. Thanks again for watching from Japan. Hasegawa

@@8000ch I think that the bigger issue is really the language barrier. It is very hard to communicate with locals and captains of boats, or even trying to get some information about where to try to go. That makes planning a trip almost impossible for someone living on the other side of the world.

The language barrier is certainly a big one. On the other hand, the language barrier is also big when you go fishing from Japan to other countries.

@@8000ch True, I think it gets hard for both ways. But Japan offers different fisheries with different game fish species that are very desirable in amazing fishing spots, as well as different coastal species and freshwater species. Overall, that makes it so that you guys can go for various kinds of fisheries inside your own country. There aren't a lot of places in the world with such conditions, and that's why Japan is becoming a more sough after destination for fishing. It is a trip that I definitely need to do.
