You wouldn’t believe how many trucks I still see with flapping straps behind 😂 shame I have no t*ts, maybe people would pay more attention these days 😆
@dsmithspecialisttransport274114 күн бұрын
@@Craneformers😂 your so correct I see not only plenty of flappy straps but also plenty of trucks using not enough straps or not strapped correctly and in poor condition,old faded, no blue labels. . Straps are cheap as chips there’s no reason to use poor equipment to do such an important job. In Germany no truck is allowed to have a strap older than a year old get stopped and you’ll have to replace them!We replace every strap on every truck once a year weather it’s damaged or not you can’t take chances with safety 👍
@Craneformers14 күн бұрын
@@dsmithspecialisttransport2741 That’s how it should be. I remember in some companies I used to work some straps were older than my driving licence at a time, read 5-10+ years old 😆

All of our new Volvo trucks comes with the second axle moved 250mm backwards so there is room for the exhaust system between the axles. Air suspension will handle load balancing.

For some reason Mercedes trucks tend to have them closer together from what I’ve seen few times. Does it help with turning circle?
@GumpPower2 ай бұрын
Actually it's only Volvo and Scania with that big of a gap between the first and the second axle. There is a cool regulation which is used by Scania and Volvo. I'll write you mate@@Craneformers

I defo prefer the elephant feet. Ran fassis for years there feet where great. My current truck is hiab with needle feet and u can really see the strain the pad is under when u got weight on it over softer ground. Lmao i still got my cransformers t-shirt u gave me 3 years ago 😊
@Craneformers2 ай бұрын
Wow that’s a really nice news to wake up to 😇 think we need to run another batch of t-shirts as people keep asking for them. Yeah I agree Hiab feet aren’t the greatest, old hiabs had a slip on metal plate over the ball head and acted as a step down. In terms of soft ground, there were some tests done than the nylon pads should be replaced with more rigid aluminium mats. There’s been accidents where nylon pads snapped under high load and low temperature or if the leg wasn’t centrally positioned it simply slipped off the pad. Keep an eye on that 😊 Thank you for comment 👍

@@Craneformers yeah its done well for 3 years lol. At first i got alot of people asking me about it 😁. U can definatly see the difference with the feet. The fassi foot was nylon aswell and it distributed the weight really well. The palfingers design is great same as the mobile cranes. But they heavy unlike the fassis. Think hiab need to make better adaptions for there feet just the slightest pressure shows the pad bowing. They may have these as an extra but not seen.

From what I understand, the single leg offers less stabilty to the corners, but can usually carry more load as it transfers into both chassis beams. Therefore with dual legs you would need to reinforce each chassis beam to the amount of force you expect on that leg.
