... back in 2018 when I could afford a 5.0 Fx4, I thought it couldn't be outdone. Three months ago, Apr 2024, I bought a remaining 2023 2.7 Stx and couldn't be happier. With the wide tires and 20" wheels, the smoothness and quiet cabin with good power couldn't be nicer. Selling a testicle just didn't seem worth it, just to have a Raptor. .

I own a 2019 Ford Expedition with an extended warranty. Thank Heaven. Same exact transmission failure and slippage as shown on this video. After some difficulty with the dealer, Ford repaired the transmission. Three week repair (literally). Expedition runs perfectly now. It's night and day difference. Smooth upshifts and downshifts at all speeds. Flows for the lower gears to the upper gears and then back to the lower gears. Truly exciting. $2,200 for the extended warranty more than paid for itself. I've now owned a 1996 Ram, 2003 Suburban, 2006 Armada, 2015 Expedition and 2019 Expedition. The Armada was the only vehicle without transmission problems. Every other truck/large SUV had substantial issues, hence why I now purchase the extended warranty.

I've heard that at higher mileage, the turbos (EcoBoost) can get gummed up. I'm in the market for a used ~2020 F-150, and for my budget it will likely have 110-130k miles (180k km). One thing not mentioned in the video is "long term reliability". Does the 5.0 win out there?

Ford has been kinda takin a dump lately. Coming from a guy who's owned 5 different Fords. The “swooshing” sound you speak of on your F150, are you sure it’s the transmission? Is to try and keep u with the constant epa regulations the US government keeps upping. That's why we have 10speed transmissions, turbo 4 and 6cyl engines in trucks.
