The evidence on Ross was damning, no matter who the judge was or could have been. Indisputable stuff. He ordered several murders AND paid for them, and he WAS Dred Pirate Roberts with hard evidence, and there's zero evidence there was anyone else at the helm. Plenty of details you can find on this, including the court documents themselves.

Unfortunately, I'd have to agree with what Mr. Wuckert said regarding there existing 'targeted' tech attacks on folks who have been 'critical' of btc. Although not one and the same thing of course, I believe this includes folks whom support the notion that Dr. Wright is bitcoin's creator/part of creator team. I say 'unfortunately' onlyl b/c I'm speaking from first hand experience.

Interesting discussion on OP_VER (just after Connor left). Why is it completely unused? Is it currently supported in BSV? (I guess it would be since BSV re-enabled all the opcodes that Core deleted?) Thanks for the interesting topics!
@cryptorebel60396 күн бұрын
Dr. Wright has said those are reserved in case of an emergency in the future, for example if there was some vulnerability in SHA-256, it could be used to preserve the system. Since that is not likely, then OP_VER is not needed.

I assumed the choice of 21 was a 'tip of the cap' to Liberty
@WillDevanter6 күн бұрын
Not sure, but I think it may be a result of an interesting coincidence, if it is a coincidence (or it may be by design): During any 4-year halving period, if the number of bitcoins in the block subsidy is X, then at the end of that 4-year period, X% of the coins remaining to be mined. So, for example, during the first four years, the block subsidy was 50, and at the end of the first four years, there were 50% of the coins left to mine. Right now, the subsidy is 3.125, so at the next halving, 3.125% will remain to mine, so 96.875% will have been mined. With 210k blocks per halving interval, this works out to 21m coins total. May not be where 21m came from, but it's interesting.
@lizardinicryptocrimsoncryp10336 күн бұрын
I hear you. My 'guess' regarding it being a 'tip of the cap' to Liberty (American Liberty Dollar) project is simply a personal hunch. I assume the math/science/underlying reason for the 21 has much more to do with the characteristics of the number 21 to begin with.

How you broadcast blocks is part of the protocol which is outlined in the Network section of the whitepaper. There should be more serious discussion about subtrees and the risks associated with them. There is a strong argument that subtrees are altering the protocol. The idea of subtrees is very similar to BU/BCH's idea for weak blocks. BCH's attempts to change the protocol with pre-consensus was a major reason for the BHC/BSV split in 2018. Now coingeek is saying subtrees will allow pre-consensus on BSV, although they use different terms. Whether subtrees change the protocol or not, they do alter the incentives of the system and come with drawbacks in terms of creating potential miner cartel behavior. Is "subtrees" part of Satoshi's vision? Why did Dr. Wright say that Bitcoin uses a binary search tree which is part of SPV, yet the new design for querying merkle paths in teranode doesn't utilize the binary search tree design from what I have heard, but rather takes advantage of the subtree design to find the merkle path. This is what I have gleamed about it from people on X, because there is nothing public for us to even look at to see the specifics of the design as far as I know. Whose idea was subtrees, was it Dr. Wright's idea? I remember Dr. Wright saying that BU had got some things correct, so was BU just doing a poor job of implementing Dr. Wright's subtree idea, and adding more nonsense like avalanche POS, or are we just rehashing the same old nonsense that failed in the past? We know Shadders faked teranode transactions at a conference in the past according to Dr. Wright, so it is hard for us to trust this new implementation is not a protocol change and that it will actually scale to millions of tx/sec and not alter the incentive system. The trolls at the "BSVA" and the ones claiming to work on teranode have also attacked me and the BSV community, and coingeek has now delisted Dr. Wright from youtube and their website in an attempt to dissociate Satoshi from Bitcoin. I am the "violent" bad guy for asking questions, but nobody is asking relevant questions or talking about these important issues. Instead they pretend everything is great and tell people to shut their mouth and not question anything, and Kurt blocks people who ask questions. The cost of Bitcoin is eternal vigilance.

Satoshi talked a lot about payments; clearly he was enthusiastic about that use case. But this "History of Bitcoin" video didn't mention the text he embedded in the first block, "The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks" -- that's a lot more than just cheap and fast payments, a lower-fee version of PayPal and credit cards. Also, you didn't mention Satoshi's famous statement “The central bank must be trusted not to debase the currency, but the history of fiat currencies is full of breaches of that trust. Banks must be trusted to hold our money and transfer it electronically, but they lend it out in waves of credit bubbles with barely a fraction in reserve.” So it seems like he was looking for Bitcoin to replace central banks!

If there is nothing to buy, it can't become cash. Established online businesses would have to start taking BSV as payment. Perfect for it is Netflix, where you could rent like in good old days, not pay for the subscription and then Netflix does not have to pay fees for those transactions to card issuers. We need companies that accept BSV as payment and it is definitely in their interest to do so.

Who was the first to create and push the "Satoshi's vision" language? It was me in 2015 when I posted a Reddit article discussing Gavin Andresen and following "Satoshi's vision", a term I popularized and others stole. Now many exchanges are using the BSV ticker, borrowing from my copyrighted phrase, including the "BSV blockchain" association who had rebranded away from the "Bitcoin association" to use my copyright without permission.
