I am not able to add my Daikin Comfora (new) to cloud. The AC is connected to the router, gets its IP address (pingable) but the next step (adding you adapter to cloud) takes forever with no error message. I think the next screen should be choosing the timezone, etc. but I never got there. Any ideas?

Try measuring the vibration caused by the heat pump inside the property, and compare that the vibration caused by the gas boiler. Note, your DB meter is not the right tool for this measurement, it will not pick up anything.

Hi, I need your help. I live in a terraced house. The unit is planned to be set up close to the fence on the patio. On my right hand side luckily I have neighours with a few meters recessed compared to me patio door. So it would sit close to the fence but not near their patio door or windows. However, I wonder having a small garden and being in a terraced house with fences either side if it is something “sensitive neighbours (on the other side of the more distant fence - about 5 meters away) might really have or give me a pain with..? I am receiving support via ECO4 so I can’t really pick and choose. It will be the Baxi HP50-11 unit which seems I was told a bit more noisy than the mistubishi ones.

TRVs turned right up is all well and good in a house where all the rooms and radiators have been carefully calculated and design from the get go for a heatpump then TRVs are unnecessary. However what about those properties that have an existing system and the installer only increases the undersized radiators ignoring those that are oversized. Then as in my house one lands up with some smaller rooms getting too warm and that’s where the TRV comes into play. In my case Honeywell home TRVs that creates a zone for each radiator/room.

I have played around a liitle bit with the App and have most of the things "off Pat" on what Jamie is putting across. I have set up on weather compensation mode which is essential for efficiency and cost but the APP does not show me the "Produced Heat" figures and have to go to the home controller to get this which is unfortunate . Is Daikin planning any updates to include this information in the App ? It would make it more easy to have all the information sent to the App and gauge your efficiency "live" as it were.

Anything that has little "quirks" as you put it should not be on the market, until they are ironed out and it works properly. My gas boiler heats the house fast to the temperature I want, not a lower temperature because the system is only capable of providing that. I also don't have to stop nasty bugs breeding because, guess what?... my water is at the correct temperature! If I want a bath the HOT water is ready in 20 minutes and if I want the house warm enough for me (23 C not a stupid 19 C, which will kill a pensioner in days) it will do it day after day through the winter and never drop lower that that setting. It also uses less electricity than a heat pump. Yes I checked, it does... my neighbor had one fitted last year and his electric bill has gone up despite cheaper rates, and he deeply regrets being conned into installing it. It also makes a continuous humming sound that is driving me crazy, so I can no longer have my windows open. They are allowed to be within one meter of my property and have a sound rating up to 42 decibels and it is within this range so I cannot complain. This is just wrong on so many levels and they should be banned.

You raise some good points which the poster hasn't responded to. Although everyone bangs on about how they are 300% efficient because they move heat rather than generate it, the same people forget to tell you that currently electricity is about 21.5p/kWh, and gas is 5.14p, so you need to be a CoP of 4.0 just to pay the same per kWh. Of course soon the government will turn the screws on gas prices at the expense of electricity, but they are tangled up together at the moment, and gas is cheap. Where I live we are often below -5 in winter, and a gas boiler is nice and efficient when the temperature differential is high, a heat pump runs out of puff. Some of the modern heat pumps can get water hot enough for a shower, but those that can't need an immersion, which has a CoP of 1.0, so it costs 4 times what gas boiler does. With nuclear generated electricity, we might be on to something with heat pumps, but as we stand now, throwing everything at wind and solar, we'll be bringing the grid to its knees, probably the winter after next. Then we'll realise that there's no joined up thinking. Not that there ever is...

Can you please explain the reduced available system output as the ambient temperature reduces during the cooler winter period, more commonly known as the "coefficient of performance". The following is an extract from a refrigeration engineers notes on the explanation of duty reduction as ambient temperatures reduce in winter conditions. I do not believe this information is openly given to potential purchasers of HP derived heating systems. A heat pump's Coefficient of Performance (COP) is its efficiency, which is the ratio of useful heat energy produced to electrical energy consumption. The COP of a heat pump varies with temperature, and is usually lower when the temperature is colder: Outdoor air temperature: As the temperature drops, the heat pump has to work across a larger temperature difference between the indoor and outdoor space, so its COP decreases. For example, a heat pump's COP might be around 4.0 in mild weather, but only 2.5 at 0°C, and typically reduces by 20% of the remaining available duty for every 5.0°C reduction in ambient temperature. Medium temperature The COP also depends on the temperature of the medium that the heat pump is pulling heat from. For example, a heat pump that has to heat water to 60°C will have a lower COP than if it only has to heat water to 45°C.

I will have a heat pump installation by CB heating soon, but a bit confused by the tank temp. Once it is heated to a certain temp, does it hold the water warm for a few hours so that I can use the hot water throughout the day? Or do I need to presume what time I will have a bath and set the water tank temp accordingly? Please advise, thanks.
@edwardbyard65403 ай бұрын
If you don't already have your answer: your tank (assuming it is a modern tank!) will hold temperature for a long time. My tank, a Daikin, loses about 2 degrees each 24 hrs. Remember that you only need your hot water set to a maximum of around 48 degrees as most of the time you mix it with cold water for a shower etc, and you only need to run a legionella cycle once a week (heats to 60 degrees). I have my legionella cycle run on a Monday morning, and we (there are 2 of us in the house) do not need to re-heat water until Wednesday morning. If you have off-peak electricity at a cheaper rate, make sure you program your hot water heating during this time period.

I have this issue and my installer also says don’t worry. However it is very weird that it does not complete the cycle. It is a machine , it should work. It does not have a hangover and decides not do its job. There should be a technical reason if it does not complete. I bought daikin because I had a good experience with it’s airco’s but for heating I now doubt it.. Can anybody tell me what possible reasons could trigger this? I do not know yet if it recovers the next cycle. Let’s see…
@pepe_da_prawn4 ай бұрын
If someone draws off hot water at the time of the legionella cycle this could affect the process as cylinder will struggle to get up to 60c. The thermostat on your immersion may also not be set high enough to reach the desired temp.
