I had the blue vista lites. 5 piece back in 70s. Loved them. Didn't have the snare but I had a Ludwig Supraphonic. Still have and use that snare. Been through 3 sets of Ludwigs with the same snare. Got the Ludwig Black Oyster Pearl when I was about 10. Ringo Starr style. I see the same ones on Reverb for $16,500. You really got something there with those vista lites. Very, very nice. I'm Jealous LOL! Nice Find!

I bought from eBay a 12x11 , 13x12 Toms and a 16x16 floor tom .All Maple Classics with Keystone badges some kind of Honey Maple finish, very beautiful. The ideea was to make a bebop kit and it came out pretty nice. I converted the floor Tom to bass drum and 13x12 to floor Tom .Now I’m thinking to cut the 12x11 to shallower size but I think it will lose value if I will cut it. Personally I don’t like bigger drums. What do you think? It’s worth it to cut down?

I found a vintage pre serial club date 13x9 tom that was wrapped in a God awful fake marble plastic linoleum type of wrap used for furniture, and it was easy to remove cause the glue was dry and brittle. Lo and behold, underneath that crappy wrap, was the perfectly preserved original blue sparkle, to match my set of orphans, which is a blue sparkle set ! What were the chances ??? The problem now, and I could just smack the imbecile who double wrapped this beautiful drum, is removing the glue residue on the wrap, without damaging the wrap. I'm in Canada, and some of the great products you use are not available here in my hometown, so I was wondering if you could help me with what type of product to use to remove this excess glue residue. I'm a custodian for a high school, so I've got access to many heavy duty cleaning, stripping , and restoring products. The Goo Gone I'm using is taking forever to remove the glue. I also used a degreaser/cleaner product from work which seems to work better, but still not sufficient enough to remove it with ease. Any thoughts or info on what I can use would be greatly appreciated. Great job on the drums as always, Sean !👍

@@rhythmista7707 thank you! I have good luck removing adhesives with wd40 and a plastic razor blade. Let it soak in tho and will probably take multiple applications. I usually soak the area and cover it with a paper towel then soak the paper towel a bit more. Might just have to experiment a bit to see what works best for you! Take care and good luck!

These drums are designed to be hit. 30% louder than any kits produced. However they are difficult to tune. Phil Collins did well with them. Really its a not a studio kit. Its for live playing and then its a pro kit that delivers.
