I love Salsa, Bachata, Tango Argentino and all.other social dances, but what the hell is this? A dance? I don't think so.

It's good to then study it, learn where it comes from, history, what it is, before thinking otherwise :)

The Angolan dance Kizomba is conquering the world. Kizomba is a couples dance that was created in the 80s and is now conquering all of Europe as a new trend dance. The word “Kizomba” comes from Angola and means “party, celebration, celebration.” P.S: I mean like all cultural assets, so must the dance, the magic dance Kizomba be maintained.

This is what I was looking for, when I exlored Tango, Zouk and Kizomba. Where would you go to, to take a deep dive for an extended time, learn it from scratch? Are there larger communities with frequent events?
@NemanjaSonero6 ай бұрын
Tarraxinha specifically, there aren't really community gatherings for that. Also rarely someone teaches it properly. I am one of them so you can for now learn on online from or on festivals, so for now online, check my channel as I got 2 videos about Tarraxinha basics. Hope it helps.

Seven years later I still share the content of this video with my fellow dance students from beginners to advanced. Applies to all Afro Latin Social Dancing styles where our primary focus is just to be a good social dancer nothing more nothing less. If any race knows about being a good Afro Latin Social dancer then we have to look at the Latinos and Africans. I have often watched the men dancing bachata where they only danced the basic step during the whole song and when you look at the expression of the womens .... it tells you enough, the majority of them are in a state of pure ecstasy and in complete submission following the gentle leading of their male partner. Another combination I have also observed and learned from is when two women dance together, in general they keep it very simple and basic focusing on connection and just having fun in the dance without any pressure or feeling that they somehow have to prove how good a dancer they are. Those interactions combined with this post have always stuck with me and greatly influenced how I now dance with women. I simply cannot understand why this post has not received more likes and gone viral. I am going to repost and peg it on my Facebook for my salsa community group.
