As usual your review made me buy a kit

I just finished this thing cause Crossbone is my favorite gundam, and holy gods is it a hand grenade. I couldn't even get the peacock smasher and muramasa to peg into the hands, let alone hold them up. My recommendation is to avoid it unless you feel like putting in a ton of extra work on your kits.

I was in Tokyo when this came out. The gundam store at Diver City had a line to get a ticket to come back two hours later to get in line, and employees on standby constantly replenishing the kit. There is a building in akibahara which has a bunch of hobby stores on top of hobby stores (like ami ami and yellow submarine), and they kept changing the price of the kit little by little to compete with each other. You could come back an hour later and a store could have it for a couple hundred yen less.

Any suggestions for the curved blue decal on the left shoulder? Tried doing it with just water like other water slide decals and really struggled. Just orders Mr Mark Setter and Softener, so hopefully those help

I don’t have the kit but I have the PG version and I’m not quite convinced it trumps it. I just feel like certain features the PG has are more worth it than the superior lightning system this thing has. For starters I like the PG exclusive unchained mode a lot. Plus the PG I think is the only unicorn model kit that has a sliding knee gimmick. Those two things alone make me like the sheer engineering of the PG a lot more. Plus the PG also has pre-painted v-fin parts that even have magnets to keep them closed in unicorn mode. All those little things add up to the PG just feeling a lot more premium overall. Another more subjective point is that I prefer that the PG has an already colored psychoframe. Sure, it means you have to have a completely separate kit for a different color but the MGEX only has two color options anyway plus since both kits run on batteries, the leds are likely to be off 90% of the time so having the psychoframe colored all the time helps with display options. Another thing the pre colored psychoframe allows is that it lets the PG have variants like the banshee, phenex or even the perfectibility. Ever wonder why the MGEX is the only unicorn that isn’t milked to death with tones of variants? It’s because the led and clear psychoframe gimmick basically backed the engenners into a corner because the other variants have the armed armor weapons which all also have psychoframe. And since the MGEX’s shield already has some issues with the light piping when attached to the arm, how the hell are they supposed to pipe all that light onto stuff like the phenex’s wings or the banshee’s collar without heavily modifying the leds? That or just giving up on the gimmick and having a pre colored psychoframe.

Watching your Gunpla Reviews feels nostalgic, I remember starting this hobby 10 years ago and if I'm looking to buy a kit, I would go to your reviews and you are part of my consideration if I'm purchasing that kit, and today I just purchased this kit since I got a great deal. Thank you Jabman025!

I’m having a problem this kid the chests lower part I can’t snap it in I try my hardest but stick with it but the upper body which is lose and unstable do you need alot of pressure to snap it in tight 🙈

The MG Deep Striker exists, the A pack isn't exactly out of the question.

Red, orange, green, vigorous red, blue (Phenex), blue (Perfectibility), colorless clear, purple (daban Phenex), luminous green, deactive grey, and new mold pink. So. Many. Options. The only colors that haven’t graced the MG are yellow (China red PG) and G-Phenex red (G-reco) HG There’s probably more SD/BB/SDCS colors I don’t know about.

Personally, I prefer the inactive psychoframe look.

1:25 Couldn't agree more! It's so weird and hard to understand at times what you're actually building but once done it all makes sense and tightens up. I wish I had shown the leg frame build in my review like you did because it's such a great example of how *weird* it goes together. The only thing I disagree with is the stability and poseability, for me it's been a great poser! If anything my problem has been the chest/core block takes too much force to remove and makes it difficult to separate in the way you want first try and also makes me worry about things going flying from the force when it eventually does pop.

Plan on painting mine 2 tone black and painting the psycho frame like the banshee

i absolutely love how the kit actually can use the unicorn's psychoframe. Just the idea of a mobile suit that isn't as complex as the unicorn but was designed to have parts shift and partially convert in order to integrate the psychoframe of an entirely different mobile suit is cool, and the fact that this was replicated in the model is insane. I can just imagine a team of engineers and mechanics partially disassembling the mobile suit in order to equip the components of the unicorn. The narrative looks messy, incomplete, and with the psychoframe on, it definitely does look cobbled together, but that's what makes it such a cool concept imo.

Although the A-Pack is not likely as a Master Grade, if I had to guess, we're probably going to see a Real Grade version. In that case, I think Bandai would repurpose the existing A-Packs HG for 'Real Grade' version; i.e. recolor to make it look like an RG and make minor adjustment to make it compatible with the RG. Basically like GNR-001E GN Arms Type-E how it got a 'Real Type Color' re-colored release and adjusted connection point. Bandai already made the RG version for RX-0 Unicorn Gundam and the RX-93 ν Gundam. Considering this mobile suit is related would make sense... RX-9 Narrative Gundam ➡ RX-93 ν Gundam ➡ RX-0 Unicorn Gundam

needlessly complicated, shittiest core fighter ever, looks completely stupid without "optional" parts, and honestly it has less shelf presence than any unicorn gundam. i wish people would just call it out for the turd that it is.

How would you rate the sturdiness of the torso assembly in relation to the MG RX-78-2 3.0?

Just finished this kit when you uploaded the video. I love it! The build was complicated, but I like how different it was to other kits. I bought two kits, one for regular mode, the other for destroy mode. but I guess one of them will be the B-pack. I decided to paint the psyco frame Gundam EX Marker Cosmo Meta Blue. Looks great!

of note: the psychoframe runners are fully interchangeable with the MG Unicorn, even if they have mildly differing surface details. you can use the grey parts to make an inactive Unicorn, or swap the "awakened" green parts onto the Narrative.

I've got money on A-Packs; bring it Bandai.
