Interesting, this is one of the best balanced kits I've built. literally no problem making it stand, even with the wings all the way back.

Well the head of the Raider Gundam would be odd as it has a beam cannon somewhat similar to the Scylla Beam Cannon on the Aegis and Calamity Gundams and as for the giant claw things on the back they were used to grab hold of the Calamity when the 3 Druggie suits returned to the fleet in the anime when the E.A. invaded Orb and as I mentioned about the claws they can only be used in M.A. mode as like the Aegis the Raider was designed to transform into a Mobile Armor because the 2 suits use the X300 series frame.

Funny. I didn't had much issues making it stand on MS mode, on MA mode that's a little tricky but will get stable once you put in on level ground. as for the combo with the Calamity, it will really not stand that's why you hook it up on an action base. I guess we have different takes. Still, a good and honest review.

Since we have a FM kit for GAT-X131 Calamity Gundam and GAT-X370 Raider Gundam, I presume we will get a FM GAT-X252 Forbidden Gundam too? I wonder how that'd be. Anyway, since the FM XVX-016 Gundam Aerial is next, I guess we might be waiting a bit for the FM GAT-X252 Forbidden Gundam.

@@magnolia549 I just came from Japan and some retailers were talking about it. The kit will be coming out next year, around September. There will be at least three Full Mechanics kit that will be released next year and one of them is the Forbidden Gundam.

IDK why. but, for me, black on mobile suits just dont look good. I think thats why they made the MK II dark blue instead of black. and I wonder what the raider gundam would look like in titans colours.

It can still stand on its own, its just that ya didn't do it right nor bothered to take the time to make all of that so. But as it takes too long to make it stand on its own, its just better to mount it on an action base 1.

Looks real bad. The crot’s signature lines as decals is cringy but give some laughs. Nonetheless. Im glad they actually spent time into making the popular druggies mech from seed. Now for forbidden. *starts imagining bandai making the chaos in FM*

This line makes no sense to me from a consumer point of view, seems like they are supposed to fill a gap in the market that doesn't exist. They are way too expensive to serve as a replacement for the old no grade 1/100 lines, I know designing and tooling for these is easier and cheaper than an MG but Bandai don't seem to have passed this saving on to the customer as they still charge based on the amount of plastic in the box despite the fact that these are cheaper to produce.

The idea generally is to make kits that fit in line with modern MGs while not having the internal frame, because some designs just will never get an MG Duel to nicheness or something else

MG is too expensive to produce in 2022 unless it's a high volume mover, hence why most new MG releases are ver. Ka or variants that use 2/3 the same runners as other models. Anything that would require a lot of original parts or is too big is just pushed to what is essentially HG 1/100

Terrible kit. Honestly, don't know why Bandai even attempts top heavy designs in the Full Mechanics line. They just don't have the joints or frame for mobile suits such as this.

This is why I don’t care for the full mechanics or the Reborn line. 1/100 kits that should’vee been a MG but Bandai was to lazy to make the kits into a MG, SMH. Gunpla isn’t as cool as it used be.

The MG line is essentially dead, having released very few desirable kits over the last 8 years (mostly just ver ka., Variants, or 2.0s of early 2000s models like the Dom). In 2022, they have only released 1 new MG (Dom with Rick Dom variant also available), and 2023 only has a ver. Ka. Zeta Gundam on the schedule. My guess is that the cost of plastic, Japan's ageing population, and Gundam's lack of cultural impact outside of millennials outside of Japan is making high quality models unfeasible.

@@amuroray88You have a point, thst’s why I’m glad we have 3rd party companies who actually have the balls to make MG and PG kits that we actually want. Last year I got my hands on the G-System-Best 1/72 Hi-Nu Gundam resin conversion kit that ues the PG Strike Gundam frame. In my opinion if Bandai wants Gundam to have a more cultural impact then they need to go back to making story focused series and not these dumb airhead series like AGE, IBO and Witch of Mercury. I’m still wondering if we’re ever going to get another Gundam Thunderbolt movie, there’s more than enough material now to do at least 2 movies now. It annoys me that the next Hathaway movie won’t be out till 2024, I wish Bandai would animate the rest of Gundam the Origin, that was a really good manga series.

i wish they would just shitcan the full mechanics and stick with MG. the colors on this are ass which means i would HAVE to paint it and if im going to do that i gotta scribe it and if im going to do that im going to want better decals (which probably dont exist so ill have to make them) and i hate the hollowness of these kits. i do like the shape of it, and i think if it was a MG it would have way more stability.. but yea no more full mechanics for me.

Agreed. It's mostly just a waste, and diverts time and budget that could be spent on more MG releases.

MG cost too much to produce for models that won't sell in high volume like this kit. It's why basically only UC 0079 thru CCA get MGs now, as anything else will either require a high price tag to be profitable, or will just lose money. They don't want to go back to the days of making models like the O that cost 150 bucks and sell 2000 units world wide
