Hi Rob Like you I bought the same shelving a couple of years ago & just to let you know that the mdf shelves sag in the middle so before you experience it brace the bottoms I used 1”x2” battens to reinforce them and prevent your tools etc falling through

Beautiful garden railway! Maybe this year at our next open weekend, you could bring a loco and stock to run on our layout at Chirk Station itself. Let us know if you might be interested! 😀🚂

Excellent young man, it's about time I dug my Steamlines kit out that I have had for over twenty years and built it, especially as you got some bits cut for me when you did yours. Looking forward to seeing the painted version.

That is Stunning! Managed to see it running at Exeter and it was great to see it there and running. You have done some amazing work on that engine and can't wait to see it finished.

Doesn't look like the HimAlleyAnne Ry. Need hilly n curvey tracks. I guess u've sent modern Diesel-Electric locos in their exchange while giving the HRy admin ppl free flow of Kvass. Nice kept garden n structures. Must taking a lot of maintenance to keep the vegetation at bay. Thx for the nice video shots! Subscribed.

Very enjoyable video! I wonder why that green IC loco is "top and tailing" with the steam one. Surely that steam engine is capable of drawing that train. I do hope it's not some stupid 'elf-and-safety requirement.
@caroleast96366 ай бұрын
It could be so that they’re not propelling the train. Some railways actually prohibit that. Also it does save time running round at each end of the run. That’s quite a chore on short lines. You spend more time running round than running the train.

Thanks for the videos. I owe you a pint at least as my lovely wife has sanctioned the building of a narrow gauge garden railway in our garden after seeing them. We'd love to see one of the railway in context of the garden or can you direct me to where I might find out more. All the best, Keith

There is no source of traction more noble than steam, especially for model railways. When a model train is drawn by a real steam engine, nothing could be more appropriate.

Awesome but the speed is s little too much. Prototype D.H.R. runs at an approx speed of 12 mph.

I have just seen this and then jumped over to Flickr too… wow awesome railway Do you mind if I ask a few questions as planning a garden one myself: What track is it? Is is 32mm? What did you use for ballast as it looks so good, Especially near the goods sheds and stuff!!
@robgolding96 Жыл бұрын
Hi Stewart, yes the track is 32mm gauge (all Peco SM32). The ballast is not ballast in the real sense, but roofing felt sheet applied to the trackbed with the track on top of it.
