Hi mate does the mixer needs to be plugged into the power to get the reading. Not turned on. Just plugged into the out let? Thanks

It is correct that RIGHT hand ground would be more proper because some cartridges already have a connection to ground on the right (RED) RCA. Two grounds in this case could create a induction loop (AKA Ground Loop) and hum. Also a good reason not to wind up the ground wire and stick it in the wire compartment. In the video Mixaddicts loops the wire in a coil (BAD) but then winds the wire around the coil to keep it secure (Good) and that action helped to cancel or disrupt any ground loop. My suggestion would be to cut the ground wire as short as possible and soldier it to the Right channel ground. That ground wire is attached to the cricket board mounting screw next to the Right channel ground. Be careful only to cut the wire that went out to your mixer. There are two wires attached under that screw and you don't want to cut the wrong one.

On one of my 1210's the ground wire is just not there. What if I open it and its been ripped out completely? How would I go about replacing it?
