Great book! I am in high school and currently self learning abstract algebra using this book and the one by Artin. Artin’s book is very hard compared to this one!

A well made calculus tutorial. It was exceptionally easy to follow along. I appreciate that you explained the small details along the way. The little stuff like sin^2 + cos^2 = 1 and 1+1=2 lets me focus more on the calculus, and spend less time trying to figure out what just happened algebraically.

Number six is wrong by the alternating series test…you haven’t proven that it’s decreasing

I'm not quite understanding. I showed the series converges conditionally. That is, the series converges due to the alternator (-1)^n. Are you saying the series is divergent or absolutely convergent?

The book is good, but I find all the colored boxes and letters very annoying. Also, there is nothing wrong with determinants, the issue is that most books fail to explain what they are.

I wonder who started the terminology "early transcendentals"
@thecalculusgod
@thecalculusgod 4 ай бұрын
It might just be the author. He used that phrase just to tell readers that transcendental functions will be introduced earlier on in the book than in the other Calculus texts.

I'm using Calculus by James Stewart for the lecture sections. 8.2 is about area of a surface of revolution. This was never covered in my calculus class so I never made a video on it. In case you need it though, the general formula when rotating a curve y=f(x) about the x axis is S = integral from a to b of: 2*pi*y*sqrt[1+(y')²] dx. Note that a <= x <= b.

If you are a beginner in proof writing, this book is a good choice. But this topic is learned typically after Calculus.
