There is a dam just a short piece downstream from the dam. I'd go with slugos, bobby garland baby shad and any cranks. You'll have a blast

@ not specifically the corps, but were subcontracted by them to build the oxygen infrastructure to support the trout estuary downstream 👌 basically building a huge bubbler for oxygen lol

It's a great spot for sure. I look for 1 generator running if I'm bank fishing. And it needs to be the last 4 gens. Any closer and the current is usually too fast for casting from the bank. The tva app has all the info on there and updates the day before. I also call the number and talk to people who work the dam to check on levels. If they are sluicing from the top of the dam it changes the fishing as well. I've honestly not fished catfish there, but fished the bottom plenty with cut bait and night crawlers and never got one. Too many trout and sturgeon to get a cat imo. I'd fish swimbaits or jig type baits, inline spinners, jerkbaits for the other fish there. But night Crawler on bottom on small hook will catch sturgeon.

@thesaltygoogan Thanks for all the help!! Been there like 5-6 times from the bank. Looking to go more, but that two hour drive is tough. Hopefully now I can some more success when I head that way

@connerbrady1043 anywhere a dam or spillway or anything that produces current is typically a good spot. Current is a huge factor in predator and bait congregation. Also, typically the water is more oxygenated below these dams, allowing more activity and getting fish active.
