When you have your window selected, make sure that the orange reticle isn't going to overlap with your wall. Wall items will try and magnet to walls, but by creating an open space, you can free float it. The orange reticle is like a natural "hitbox" for furniture, and it's often in the middle of the item but in a Cracked Arch Window case it's at the bottom, so it needs to be higher than your wall a tiny bit!

Sorry I need to add this: we need things we can do in an apartment. Most of the things showcase here you cannot do without a two or three-story house

I really like these designs, but having to destroy an entire basement just to get this effect means that the developers need to give us more housing items that we can get creative with. It's too much to ask to destroy 70% of the housing space to create a small room that most people will never see unless they watch it on a video
@HGXIV
@HGXIV Ай бұрын
We'd love more options for lower cabinets etc! But disagree that its too much to cut off the basement. Cutting off sections of the house doesnt just allow you to hide the extra bits, it also means you dont have to spread items out across an entire house which lets you pack more detail into one area. Most of us do it because we enjoy the creativity it allows you to have when you can look at items beyond their intended purpose. Even with the soon-to-come slot increase, this will still happen. No one is forced to do it this way of course! Different strokes for different folks, whether it's seen or not :)

Is there a breakdown on this, specifically the stone wall stove area and the window seat
@HGXIV
@HGXIV Ай бұрын
We dont have a breakdown of this one yet! But the stone wall around the stove is a bunch of Flagstone Lofts, while the cutout area is made with Flagstone Steps to make the angled parts and back behind the stove. The window seat itself is made with two Glade Sideboards and a Eulmoran Divan with some Matching Cushions on top. And the window wall is the Portaled Partition, while the angled parts are Imitation Wooden Skylights.

The potted plants in the corner are from the Apothecary's Workbench. And the white flower on the wall leading up the stairs is the White Arum. It's in the pot belonging to the Candlelit Sundries.

@@caittm6163 The gradients for varying distance don't seem to work anymore when you put things at an angle. Also the items need to stick out further in order for shadows to be cast, ruining the effect, especially if you look from above or the side. Contrast doesn't seem great either.

Hiya Tony, implying you get no information from any of our videos seems a bit extreme, but the point of this style of video is to serve as inspiration for creating your own windows and show a breakdown of the items used to make these windows, not a full tutorial on how to create each one. Our discord community has an entire channel dedicated to breakdowns made by us and people in the community from their own builds. We also have a help channel for anyone needing further info on how it's constructed or the specific glitches needed to achieve these. You're welcome to join or ask specific how-to questions here. As a side note, we share who made each build both on screen and in voice over!

Sorry, I know this is a very old video at this point, but I *must know* what these raised floors are made using. I can't find anything with such narrow wood slats that fit the bill. Is it something that has somehow been floated, but down? I didn't think that could be done in apartments. I'm going nuts. How was it made!
@HGXIV
@HGXIV 5 ай бұрын
All good! We try to check the comments even on the older videos incase anyone has questions! The raised section (and the stair leading up to it) is an Imitation Wooden Skylight. You're right, normal furnishing items cant be floated downward in an apartment, but anything that says Wall-Mounted or Tabletop on the tooltip can be lowered with the use of a crane system. The basic gist of it is to use a system of wooden beams with the wall-mounted item attached so you can lower it into the floor and then use the wall float glitch to detach it from the beam! We have a section on our site that explains it here: hgxiv.com/glitch-guide/#craning Hope this helps!

The main part of the door is the back of a Disordered Wardrobe. Above it, to make the wooden cutouts, is a Glade Stall with a Imitation Shuttered window behind it for the light. The door handle is the side of a Simple Curtain. And the windows either side are two more Imitation Shuttered Windows! Hope this helps!

We used stage panels for the walls and then the windows are flipped around backwards. Since Stage Panels only have one side (the coloured side) that wall-mounted items will snap to, if you turn a wall-mounted item backwards it wont be able to detect the partition and wont snap!

I wish there would be better ways to Match the windows inside of the house with the windows outside of the house. As example I build this new asian house (sukuya something) and while the outside windows are squares, the inside windows are suddenly round. 😅 And it wouldn't be making much sense to build a lovely forest scene for the windows, if you in the Uldah district. But I didn't found any window show case which would match more the Uldah region.
@HGXIV
@HGXIV 6 ай бұрын
The windows on the inside of the default walls do match the outside, if thats what you wanted to go with. But theres also the Fool's Threshold which is a Doman themed window that matches too. You'll find houses of all kinds of themes with themed windows to match. You dont have to limit yourself to what the view is in the district your house is in. You said already put the Sukiya-Zukuri exterior on, so you're already outside of Oasis territory anyway! If you're really set on matching Goblet, just about any of these windows can be adapted just by using different foliage/greenery or different coloured skies etc. Experiment a little!
