This is the cleverest lighting trick since snowman bottoms, thanks.

This is so amazing! I've been messing around with dioramas and stacking objects behind showcases and the like, but this is simple, very low on the housing items budget, and beautifully effective. Thank you for sharing with us!

Thanks for the guide, this is so inspiring ! I don't believe it was "just" shadows with tabletop items omg ! This is so smart I'll try to use it for a friend's house

Sadly with DT graphics update, this effect no longer works.

It *mostly* works again with the 7.05 fix. Just tested.

Oh! And as to the blue light coming up from the waterfall partition, the Table Mats are really awesome and don't reflect it. Sealed Letters, Stacked Documents, and Classified Documents all reflect that blue light from below.
@GENKI_INU4 ай бұрын
@@caittm6163 The gradients for varying distance don't seem to work anymore when you put things at an angle. Also the items need to stick out further in order for shadows to be cast, ruining the effect, especially if you look from above or the side. Contrast doesn't seem great either.

Wish I went I read this comment before spending a few hours losing my mind trying to get this to work. Such a shame, because this was exactly what I had in mind for my apartment.
@Hauntedhighheel25 күн бұрын
Just tried it with documents and unfortunately even lowering the phasma doesn't really do it. Gonna try the table mats next.

Thank you! ♥ I've been wanting to do a Bioshock themed floor for a Gpose studio, and this will totally fit in there :p

Welcome! You should check out the original designs in the description box. They could definitely fit the Bioshock vibe too!

The grapihcs update has broken the cityscape window I did in my room and I feel very sad :(
@HGXIV3 ай бұрын
It's still doable! You might just have to play around with the positioning of the Phasma. Lowering it a little is what a bunch of folks have found works the best!

Still not working at all for me, the light/shadow effect from the phasmascape only comes down from the top for a couple of feet from the box before fading to nothing within another foot :/ There's barely any light coming from them at all.

Hey! Could you please do a break it down tutorial on how to make a computer? I see that’s been trending, except I cant figure out how to make it. 🙂

What items would I use to create an in-game cityscape? I'd love to make something like Amaurot or pre-fall Garlemald, as opposed to something that looks good but doesn't exist in game yet (although I'd love love LOVE to see a shard that was something like FF7's Midgar or FF8's Esthar or Xenogears' Etrenank or Shevat in one of our future expansions)
@HGXIV Жыл бұрын
If you wanted to use this technique you'd just have to experiment with different shadows to get the look you're after.

This is absolutely fantastic, I am currently making a smaller version of this for my apartment. I was wondering, what is the item used to make the 3 skinny sections on the top of the tower on the left?
@HGXIV9 ай бұрын
Hiya! They're made with Hingan Brushes! Just the little brush tips are poking out to make the super thin lines. Hope this helps!

@HGXIV Жыл бұрын
Yes! The window's purpose is designed to be easy to recreate with minimal glitching, so console can make it with ease. Check out Shei Cloudbank's tutorials because she works mostly on console glitching!

What causing the subtle red glow?
@iLubCakeZ Жыл бұрын
uhmm, it doesn't work for me. I wonder if it is because of the shaders I have or because the graphics settings. The paper will not cast a shadow for some reason.
@HGXIV Жыл бұрын
I could potentially be your graphics settings. If you have any of the shadow settings turned down too low, it might not achieve the same result.
@Lulexiaa Жыл бұрын
I actually tried this but the light of the azure sky phasmascape gives me this glitchy/blinking effect. ;-; Is it because I play on ps4 or am i doing something wrong?
@HGXIV Жыл бұрын
It shouldnt have anything to do with being on PS4. Sometimes lighting can be a big buggy depending on the angle or the distance you are from it. But you might be able to play with the distance you have it sticking out in front casting shadows. Maybe try less or a little more distance.

It's the Waterfall Partition. It also adds the subtle uplighting at the bottom.
