I was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Grew up in the east end of the city not far from the Superior shoreline. A truly amazing body of water. Beautiful summer weather. Real winter conditions, snow banks 6-8 feet high. Water that's always cold ( even in the shallow water areas) Spent many hours just looking out into the water... mesmerizing

Lake Superior is gorgeous, but a real diva to the ships that sail her. Ever since the Edmund Fitzgerald sank, even the largest of the Great Lakes ships will take refuge in harbors when gale force winds and waves are forecast. 🌊🌊🌊

@ I think they’re bigger on the us side. But I don’t know. People only make videos of the big splashes. I found a few spots for splashes but the waves have to be huge

@ i have seen monster waves on Superior,s north shore near Old Woman bay at Lake Superior Provincial Park on hwy 17 and at Marathon , Ontario.....these waves put the Edmund Fitzgerald on the bottom , just off shore at Pancake bay , there is a memorial at this location.
