@@Lakesuperior2022 I would think the Eastern side of the lake by the islands of Caribou and Misipicoten ( ?) would get the biggest waves as the waves have 400 miles to grow and most storms are from the West winds.

Love it! KZbin just suggested your channel to me. Amazing! A few thoughts: I much prefer the static shot in this video over the "chase the waves" videography in the other video of yours I watched. Also, I know it is your time, but make this 30, 60, or even 90 minutes and I (and many others) would park and replay such a video on our third or fourth monitors (digital video frame). I miss the Great Lakes more than some of my kids (at times) and love that you are creating and sharing these. Thank you!

Thank you very much for taking the time to write that. It's funny you said that. One problem is these big waves only come in every ten minutes or so I don't think people would watch the 10 minutes in between. And they never really stay in the same place they're scattered all over. The KZbin stats tells me 47 sec is the average amount of time people watch one. And as soon as I posted a short one the first comment was can you make it longer. I started making one long one the other day anyway. But it will be a while I have alot of footage to go through.

Interesting how the frequency of the Superior waves is much higher than a comparative ocean wave
@Qui-93 жыл бұрын
A lot of the big waves in the ocean had hurricanes and huge storms and a lot of distance to build up, and via whitecaps, merge into longer waves. A lot of the shores receiving these waves are after the waves and storm have separated, and the height reduced. Lake Waves while it's windy tend to be shorter because they are still choppy from the wind.

Sorry Gwi, it's the waves of November. I have a cottage 30ft above the lake on Southern shore. Every year between 11/7 & 11/20 the season change begins & severe weather happens, with winds well over 70+ mph. Awesome power of the big lake.
