My underrated list would have 6 books . Brave and Bold 34 thru 36 and Showcase 34 thru 36 . I’ve been an Atom -Hawkman fan since I was a kid in the 60s and aquired these books 30 or more years ago. You can get these books cheap compared to other old key books . These are still some of my favorites.The true value of these books is in how much you enjoy having them 🤓

lol I am 33 years old and having no kids is a huge financial relief. I also live below my means and a pretty disciplined saver. Most of my comic collections are from $1 bins but lately I’ve been upping my budget if there is a big sale for graded or more expensive back issues.

Hard to call books. After all they are only worth what someone will pay. Are they undervalued or is it just I like them more than others? 2 that stand out to me ( presumably because of bad covers) are Avengers annual 10 1st Rogue. When you consider how much of a main stay X-man she is and how popular from the animated series it seems prices should be way up The other one is Dc Comics Presents #26. 1st New Titans, 1st Starfire, Raven, Cyborg. Perez art. What's not to love. This is to me DC's X-men #94

@Whalewraith Those are two perfect examples because I myself am guilty of that on those two books. Especially the DC Comics Presents. I definitely want that book and have it on my list, but because I love when a character is on the cover for their 1st appearance, I keep putting other books before it. Thanks for commenting!

really agree on ASM 101 - AMAZING character and hopefully a LEGION OF MONSTERS play will give him another chance - Plus, the movie wasnt BAD - It wasnt good - it was just a lame basic vampire story, nothing special.

Batman 227 and 251 are the big Neal Adams keys, followed by Batman 232 and 234. The issue that's heating up is Batman 222 which has the Beatles homage. All the Neal Adams covers are going up in price so get them while you can.😏

Great choices! There are definitely many books that are underrated, I love all of Neal Adams’ Batman covers and sometimes they can get overlooked!

Interesting choices. Never heard of the Arkham Asylum series. But you are right, it can be great fun to dive into the more obscure and eclectic stuff. Do you ever display your DC slabs or is that a perma-setup of Spidey?

Thank you! I love characters you don't hear about everyday. And I do swap it from time to time and then the books display for awhile. Since I'm showing off alot of DC, I've let the Spidey books stay up longer to offset it

Great choices for this challenge! And it is true that Doom Patrol #99 should be much more valued and I think that I don't even have to say what I think about The Demon/King Kirby book, should be but for some reason it ain't...And there has been two runs for Etrigan, and 4 volume miniseries, Blood of the Demon series and the Demon Knights series, so it should be much highly regarded 😅 Awesome video 😊

Dude awesome books! You got a lot of nice ones with this haul. You blame Flash for having less money which I can agree but also for me that would be Batman😂. Also the Teen Titans #25 is a book I love, I look at it everyday at work on my wall, it’s a great story as well!

Also the scientific-plausibility in the Flash was impressive too. For example, when the Flash ran on the surface of a lake or ocean without sinking, it was scientifically explained as applying the principle of skipping a pebble on the water. So writer John Broome always tried to make the Flash scientifically plausible.

I drove an hour to a great store in Denver yesterday (shouts Hall of Justice). Completely unaware there was Denver Fan Expo going on downtown, so they were running 50% off back issues and 10% off wall books in conjunction with the con. I was happy to skip the crowds/con fees and save big!

@seanmitchell8151 That is awesome! Most of my go-to spots are also about an hour away. I always want to hit up more cons for the experience, but it's so hard justifying the con prices, gas, food, and maybe hotel. You got the best scenario with those sweet deals and no crowds!

Holy!! Really nice haul, and of course I liked those DC stuff, Aquaman and Superman❤ but have to say that my favorite cover was Hulk #258, Ursa Major and the rest of the Soviet SuperSoldiers in their first appearance 🎉🎉

As always, you picked up a lot of great books. If you haven't read that Silver Surfer 1 from 1982, you should give it a read. It's the story of how Silver Surfer escaped from Earth after being trapped by Galactus in the Fantastic Four 48-50 story arc.

Whenever I watch comic collector videos, they seem to have a collection of large “encyclopedia” book style. What are those on the bottom right of screen?

Hello! Those are collected editions called an Omnibus. When comics first come out in collected editions, they usually start as a stardard hardcover, one volume at a time. An Omnibus will have multiple volumes all collected in that one book

Yeah I’m in the same boat where I grew up with Keaton Batman and McGuire Spider-Man and they are what turned me into a superhero fanatic. If I grew up any differently I’m not sure what my hobbies would look like. Awesome video!👍

I have to agree with the Miles Moreles and I was happy that my Spiderman, Miguel, got a good movie and a good story! For me I have been in the comics before the movies/shows so I mostly the characters were known to me, but I think that this is the reason why I am so eagerly waiting the DC universe, because I get to see characters from comics/animation brought to live screen, and they are new characters, so new people get to know them 😊 and as in Finland, DC isn't as big as Marvel so I get to tell my friends for example who, Metamorpho, is! 🎉

I felt the same way about Miguel. I knew of him but wasn't as familiar, and that movie made me go out and by the Spiderman 2099 omnibus! And that means once these DC movies start rolling out you get to be the expert with all your friends catching them upto speed! Lol

I know for a lot of people it all started with the comics, but for me, it was almost the opposite . If not for a lot of the movies and shows, I wouldn't have the same love for certain characters as I do today and be willing to pay up for those 1st appearances!

What can I say, goodness? awesome? greatness? or all? 🤯🤯 The Demon is for me one of the biggest characters, been looking this one for a quite kong time, yeah, there are these but I have not been able to find quality/price ratio that I have been happy with...I have the collected omni of the hole run, and I did a subtitled video version of The Demon..Maybe I just buy graded one 🤔🤔 And oh man, oh man that first Dr. Fate ❤ I love these DC videos of yours, so happy to see the love for DC... Here, in Finland, DC is a huge minority but I've loved DC after JL Unlimited and Byrne's Superman 😊

I have to take a page out of your book and start getting some of these collected omnis! I know it's harder to get over there, but do you have any single issues? And I'm right there with you. I'm still a huge Spiderman, Hulk and MCU fan, but overall DC takes the cake for me when it comes to overall characters. Justice League Unlimited is 🔥

@@ConlinsComics I do not have any singles of the Demon, #1 is the only one that I am gonna get( until I get it, and buy the others 😅) and it is easy to get the others here but the #1 ain't, surprise 🤣 Marvel is close to my heart, Silver Surfer, FF, Wolverine etc. but I just love the DC space/multiverse/magic etc. stuff, that ain't better in Marvel...

Static Shock is another one that slipped through the cracks along with the original Teen Titans. I've heard they're just as amazing, but I've yet to actually watch them all the way through!

Im a huge fan of the DC weirdness. Im tired of seeing Batman and Superman all the time. Just got BG #1 for a pretty fair price and I've been getting any weird #1s or keys. Working on Captain Atom, Spectre and Static currently.

I feel the same exact way! I do love me some Batman and Superman, but lately I've been enjoying grabbing other lesser known DC heroes at high grade for great prices. Captain Atom is another fave, I snagged his 1st appearance in Space Adventures 33 but now I want Ted Kords 1st appearance in Captain Atom 83

@ConlinsComics recently got the Ted Kord 1st, my favorites Flash, though. Trying for a full run of the 1959 Barry Allen run and the 1980 Wally west run. I respect Batman and Superman and they have some awesome stories but I feel like they get way over used. Typically there's atleast 3 titles running at the same time for Superman/Batman family.

@ConlinsComics That's awesome, I would definitely love to have the first apperence of Wally West as Kid Flash. I got super lucky, and a friend got almost all of the 1980 Wally West run, so I bought that, and I'm working on filling in the gaps. The 1959 Flash I basically have to go from scratch, and I've mostly raided my local comic shops. I'm still missing about 150 books from it 😞

Booster gold is a fun character - I have most of the original Dan Jurgens run (of course I'm missing no 1 - which is the on that has crawled the price ladder). I think this character fits James Gunn's style perfectly.. I'm looking forward to see what he makes out of it...

This is what I'm talking about man. Love this idea to highlight a single issue and use it to dive into your personal history. In a previous video when you pointed out ASM 45 as an early Silver Age or early Spidey book to enter your PC, I was happy to hear it because I had the same experience with that very same book when I was younger. You're a great storyteller and it's always fun to hear about why you collect what you do, especially when it taps into a communal appreciation for amazing things like the DC Animated shows. More of this please!

Can't express to you enough how much that means to me Cribbs. While there will definitely still be some haul videos, I want to start making more videos on why certain characters and comics mean to me what they do. Showing books I'm picking up, but what they mean to me personally. And there will still be some cover or impulse buys im sure lol It's crazy that you had the same experience with asm 45. I remember going into that comic shop every day and staring at it, just being in awe of an issue so old, and telling little me that one day I'd save up and get it. I can't thank you enough for the kind words, and it makes me extremely happy that you're enjoying the content so far.
