Conlin, I’m currently on a huge kick collecting Bruce Timm and Darwyn Cooke covers precisely because of my love for their work in the Timmverse you were just talking about. Way cheaper than chasing silver age stuff and closer to my own childhood and heart.

Those are both two amazing artists. Bruce Timm specifically is synonymous with nostalgia for so many people. Both him and Darwyns character designs are some of the most iconic. Cheaper and holds a great deal more meaning to you

Hey Conlin! I’m a big Booster fan. His JL International appearances are great, but his best appearance is the three issue arc in Tom King’s Batman. It’s called “The Gift.” Not sure if you read new comics, but I highly recommend. I think King is currently the best writer in superhero comics.

I still pick up Batman each week and then buy the collected volumes. There's still some of the Tom King run that I own but have to finish reading, so I'll definitely have to go back and check out that arc. Thank you very much for letting me know!

This is what I'm talking about man. Love this idea to highlight a single issue and use it to dive into your personal history. In a previous video when you pointed out ASM 45 as an early Silver Age or early Spidey book to enter your PC, I was happy to hear it because I had the same experience with that very same book when I was younger. You're a great storyteller and it's always fun to hear about why you collect what you do, especially when it taps into a communal appreciation for amazing things like the DC Animated shows. More of this please!

Can't express to you enough how much that means to me Cribbs. While there will definitely still be some haul videos, I want to start making more videos on why certain characters and comics mean to me what they do. Showing books I'm picking up, but what they mean to me personally. And there will still be some cover or impulse buys im sure lol It's crazy that you had the same experience with asm 45. I remember going into that comic shop every day and staring at it, just being in awe of an issue so old, and telling little me that one day I'd save up and get it. I can't thank you enough for the kind words, and it makes me extremely happy that you're enjoying the content so far.

Definitely an awesome book and underrated character. I’m very excited to see what James Gunn does with all of these characters that have never seen the light of the big screen. I also will be starting the Justice league shows at some point soon!

Right?! At this point I'm just hoping they DO hot the big screen lol until I see that Superman Legacy trailer the dcu doesn't feel real lol and you will NOT be disappointed with those shows!

Booster gold is a fun character - I have most of the original Dan Jurgens run (of course I'm missing no 1 - which is the on that has crawled the price ladder). I think this character fits James Gunn's style perfectly.. I'm looking forward to see what he makes out of it...

Awesome video and have to agree with everything! And my live for DC started with JLA and Unlimited, and as you said Stewart and Wally are also mine GL and Flash! Been trying to do the same thing with these characters but my pace is slow 😅😅 Slower than I like but no worries 😊 And that Greatest story Never Told-episode, oh boy, it so good! And I am so happy that Creature Commandos are coming and espacially Rick Flag Sr. 👌🔥

Those shows just had so many amazing episodes that really fleshed those characters out! And pacing yourself is ALWAYS a good option lol a couple of the other newer books I got I scored for a very good price and are amazingly cheap compared with some of my other recent pickups. Creature Commandos I'm hoping ignites that passion in us and a whole new generation!

Also you never mentioned Static Shock, another amazing show that's a part of the universe. Couple episodes where they met the Justice League

Static Shock is another one that slipped through the cracks along with the original Teen Titans. I've heard they're just as amazing, but I've yet to actually watch them all the way through!

Im a huge fan of the DC weirdness. Im tired of seeing Batman and Superman all the time. Just got BG #1 for a pretty fair price and I've been getting any weird #1s or keys. Working on Captain Atom, Spectre and Static currently.

I feel the same exact way! I do love me some Batman and Superman, but lately I've been enjoying grabbing other lesser known DC heroes at high grade for great prices. Captain Atom is another fave, I snagged his 1st appearance in Space Adventures 33 but now I want Ted Kords 1st appearance in Captain Atom 83

@ConlinsComics recently got the Ted Kord 1st, my favorites Flash, though. Trying for a full run of the 1959 Barry Allen run and the 1980 Wally west run. I respect Batman and Superman and they have some awesome stories but I feel like they get way over used. Typically there's atleast 3 titles running at the same time for Superman/Batman family.

@ConlinsComics That's awesome, I would definitely love to have the first apperence of Wally West as Kid Flash. I got super lucky, and a friend got almost all of the 1980 Wally West run, so I bought that, and I'm working on filling in the gaps. The 1959 Flash I basically have to go from scratch, and I've mostly raided my local comic shops. I'm still missing about 150 books from it 😞
