How about the rolling resistance? A a trail rider pedalling all day is my concerned?

I didn’t note a significant increase and if there is one - the advantages and plus in grip and safety definitely outweigh the mini plus resistance.

It is nice to see the slowmo and realise how little active body movement there actually is. Like when you drop over the edge, you are not moving the body backwards, you just stay planted over the BB and the bike pivots under you,

Love the last slo-mo, and the visualization of your steady but relaxed position IN the bike, adjusting a leveled position no matter what the bike beneath does. A MUST watch to understand the "rider-bike-de-coupling" mechanic.

Exactly, the nose pivot turn is a skill for SLOW SPEED TECHNICAL trail riding with trial elements. It's not about speed, it's about skill and finesse. And YES - exactly the same applies to what you're referring to: skills over speed. Most women I know rather have a man who knows what he's doing than who got through it fast.
@Bonky-wonky2 күн бұрын
Aren’t “shredding” and “sending it” extreme examples of the essence of our sport, provided it’s based on skill rather than balls? Mountainbiking can be whatever you make it but it usually involves an element of technicality, even in modern xc. Brands showing extreme riding is just basic marketing at work. F1 sells family cars, mx sells touring motorcycles and dh/enduro/loam shredding sells trailbikes to amateur riders. I consider myself a decent rider but I’m nowhere close to brage vestavik yet watching him gets me fired up to ride. I do exactly the same stuff as him, only at a “slightly” different level.

@Roxybike_Ride.and.Inspire2 күн бұрын
Danke lieber Andreas!

The ONE principle that transformed my riding (and later my coaching) is simple but powerful: Fundamentals over fads. If you've been here for a while, you know I say this all the time. Why? Because it truly MATTERS. FUNdamentals are the foundation of riding safely and having fun 🤩 And the biggest fundamental - the one everything else builds on - is finely tuned BODY POSITIONING. So, how can you feel that your center of mass (COM) is over your bottom bracket? And why is this so important? 1️⃣ How to feel it: Stay fully weighted through your feet. Imagine not needing the handlebars to position your body. Picture yourself standing on level, equally weighted pedals, allowing the bike to move freely beneath you (by using your arms & legs as your body suspension) while you remain stable. If your head is stable and you’re feeling „heavy feet, light hands“ you’re doing great! 2️⃣ Why it’s crucial: When your weight is fully on level pedals, the cranks are free to move. This allows the bike to shift (front-to-back and side-to-side) without transferring those movements to your body. The result? A stable body, improved traction, more control, and the ability for your wheels to roll over obstacles effortlessly without getting stuck. 💡 SHARE this video to highlight the importance of “Fundamentals over Fads” - because mastering the basics is what truly sets experts apart! 💪

Very thanks! A very nicely broken down video about the differences that I assumed existed but had never been told anywhere. Yep, there are just some people who have the physical and athletic ability to learn things quicker. I once saw a guy learn how to ollie and then kick flip a skateboard in a matter of about 45 minutes. It took me weeks of practice just to get decent at ollies. I never let it bother me. I just keep working on my skills and they get better.

Roxy, your on-bike videos are fantastic! Your technique makes everything look so effortless, even though we know it's anything but easy. This off-bike video is great, too! I'd suggest that experienced riders try snow biking; the loss of traction in the snow really emphasizes the need to keep your weight centered through corners and hill climbing.

Hi Roxy I’ve been working on my balance for a while now. I started doing heal to toe. I stand heal to toe for a count of twenty then i step out nine step and stop and hold that position for another count of twenty the i step backwards for the same nine step, then i stand for an additional twenty count. So thins i can do this with no trouble other times I can do it just doesn’t work. If I loose balance I start over. I was doing this at least three times daily. Ive tried doing this out doors with little success. In my house my floors are tiled with Mexican tiles and they are very inconsistent which I figured that would help too.
