Well hmmm, i guess i would determine my top 3 cars in terms of speed to value and work on them together so that i always had progress even when waiting on parts. So the question becomes what action can i take that will produce the most value for me and my shop. Do i need to raise money for my big projects like that baddass shaker car? Well then what is the fastest way to add value to the cars that i know i can sell for a good profit. Then i would work on those. That way you get money coming in and you free up space. Also this is kinda out there but if a car requires a level of expertise you just dont have then consider taking one down to mexico to a highly reputable shop. The work is great and the price is way lower there.

Big block mopars are notorious for the fuel pump pushrod wearing and causing a reduction in fuel pressure. It will start and run but when it's under a load or when it gets hot and everything expands it will not put out enough pressure. Measure the pushrod, I'd bet $100 that's it.
@ryanbarsness6 күн бұрын
@@jameswarren1871 i was thinking that too but it turns out it was the hard line between pump and tank that was bad

Great car and a super effort you put into it. Sorry I didn't check out the car. As for me, I just cruise around in my fastback and quickly found out a fuel bowl level issue. After adjusting them up, I developed a shifting issue. A 1-2 and back to1 shift is not the way to victory. 😅 But nothing seemed to be broken, so I ran the first round of the bracket race and lost by a fender. I actually lost on reaction time. Best of luck to you next year. 👍🏁

You should be proud. You covered a lot of ground in a short time. Not a lot of guys at your age these days could do that🫵. Couple ideas on fuel supply based on my own amateur stumbling around and figuring stuff out on my Cuda. 1) check to be sure your car is running at operating temp, if it is hot it can boil the gas causing vapor lock 2) make sure the gas tank is well ventilated 3) put in a return fuel line to keep the fuel cool 4) check to be sure the fan is close to the rad and if not put in a spacer as that will help run a bit cooler and avoid boiling this crappy modern gas 5) put in a bigger diameter fuel line. Hope these help somehow. Mopar🏁

You'll get it Ryan it's just a matter of time and yeah it can be done with a mechanical pump... I do it every day that's all I run are stock mechanical pumps and 87 regular gas.. Now if I had something with better than 9.5 to 1 CR yeah 91 or 94.. And a better carter pump..... I vote six pak.

You have everything to be proud of. I have had the same problem with my coronet and the only thing that seem to solve It was running a return line with an electric pump and a regulator. I've used the more gasket high volume pump and same problem no fuel in the filter this new gas nowadays boils really early and temperature, I had to fix mine and seem to resolve it

Fuel pump problems never end. I used to love the old reliable mechanical pumps. I have had so many failures with them in the last few years I had to go electric. In tank is the best, in line are noisy but they work. The holley blue, electric pumps are junk too, they dont last more than a couple years.
