Rek covered food in great detail so instead how about that mentality. You specifically asked if it's normal to get more nervous as time goes on and yes it is, but it's going to come in waves. With the more time you invest, the more the run means to you, and the more you overthink it. The good news is that the more often you get this pace, the less nervous you will be because you've been there before. I must have choked at least 5 runs in the end that would've cut minutes off my pb over the past year with the most recent being two weeks ago. This is a very common occurrence and there's no shame in a new End Enter PB. It just shows that you are better than before and you are capable of those times. Keep your head up, you've got this.

I play the flute and my teacher told me that as you improve you feel like you're getting worse because your standards for yourself raise and you become more aware of your flaws so maybe the same applies here. Also the hitting entity works but it's not worth doing in this version.

5:15 :) 10:00 You actually were way farther than needed for both treasure bastion pearl hang attempts. The pearl either hit the bridge pillar or the ground because the chunk border should be like 1 block ahead of where you landed (from what I've seen the chunk border is always in the same place for a treasure bastion). If you turn on chunk borders that should help with seeing where you actually need to throw. 19:50 I'm with you on this, you pretty much get an instant 3 min save on every run with a calculator, even if uncalibrated/unprecise/inefficiently done.

Here's some tips (disclamer: i'm not a pro speedrunner i just know a few things from watching speedrunners and running a bit myself): - You could have taken fall damage digging to stronghold since you were going to hunger reset anyway. The fall is not that bad especially if you don't dig on 4 4 but on 3-4 or 5-4 for example to land on the stairs - If you don't learn ninjabrain's bot now you can learn axis. Its more precise than the 4 block estimation but it can be kinda hard to learn. You can look it up if you want and judge if its useful to learn it. - Also there is a way to piedar the forteress using just the corner of a chunk and looking in the 2 available direction. If you don't find the spawner you can go to the chunk in diagonal of the one you're in and increase by one the render distance. Doing this you can do the same thing for the other direction you haven't checked. Hope that makes sense you can look it up on yt if it didn't. - I'm doing some ranked to improve atm and i found it useful to see what the opponent did better than you with the replay system. Its always good seeds that you can finish playing even if the opponent finished or you won by forfeit. I think it can help improve in a fun way if you don't care about elo. If you want to win more matches however in would recommand learning ninjabrain's bot as everyone is using it. Hope i was useful in some way!Have fun!

You asked how runners conserve their food. Yes, the biggest thing by far is taking less damage. 90% of the damage you take should come from pearling. Most bastions should be done with little to no damage taken. However faster runs do use less food because well. they're faster, so it makes sense to get more food when you're in the 30 min range. You run more and have more chances to take damage. However you can eat food more optimally. The basic idea is eating to perfectly fill your saturation bar. This doesn't waste any saturation and heals you the most effectively. Cod gives 2.5 situation bars so you should eat when you're missing 2.5 hunger bars (bread is the same). Salmon gives 3 hunger bars so you should eat when you're 3 down. However, if you're in a fortress or need to heal fast, eat as soon as possible. Staying alive is more important than perfectly eating food. Often you'll see runners eat their highest quality food when pearling (and as quickly as possible.). This is so they regen faster and can pearl more. You can desync your movement by hitting a boat. I think this uses less food, but no one does it in actual runs. I imagine it's a pretty negligible effect and its a pain to do. It's much better, imo, to use that brain power to just make smarter decisions so you take less damage. Also, pro tip when fighting blazes. don't jump crit when a blaze is right next to you. Blazes have a significantly harder time hitting you when you're on the ground. You're def entering the addicting phase of speedrunning. Good luck managing it. I've got a healthy relationship with it now, but I remember running 8 hours a day and feeling terrible about myself. Going for walks is OP and getting in calls with friends is a must. Speed running is great but you gotta manage it carefully. It's been super fun to watch these commentaries. you've been playing soo much better and I love the voiceover. keep it up!
@jnorman51343 ай бұрын
It's important to note that perfectly filling your hunger bar isn't always the right move; if you're down hunger, but don't need to worry about gaining health, you probably want to eat your lower quality food. An example of this in your run is at 3:40, you could have eaten some of your apples while you weren't in any danger, saving bread for the blaze fight later (coincidentally, this also would have meant perfectly eating food, but even if it didn't, eating the apples is still the correct play).

The best way to conserve food is to eat right when your hunger bar is missing the exact amout of hunger bars as the food you have (for example: bread gives you 2.5 hunger bars so you should eat it when 2.5 hunger bars are missing)

Hey man, i am loving these vids even tho i don't speedrun i know a lot of stuff from watching fein and rek and many other, I suggest that if you have any doubts or questions just like reach out to the speedrunners. They might know things that we don't know and we might give out false information and you mess up. No speedrunner uses the hunger glitch and i don't know if its legal or not but when you are trying to get food the best food source comes from buried treasure chest so i suggest you aim for that kinds of seeds and if you are still having doubts Watch couriway where he is speedrunning 100,000 times where he comes across many different seeds and you can prob learn a few things from him. Hope this helps and keep up the good work.

When you start improving at something there is a thing that happens where you think you are getting worse. It’s not actually that you’re getting worse, you are just realizing that there are so many things that you can improve on. The more skilled an knowledgeable you get, the more you become aware of the skill cap and your relative skill level. You also could just be having a bad day or be tired. You are improving very quickly keep going! Also down bad is crazy 💀

8:13 grab 3 flint so you can do the off-hand mining trick, it lets you insta-place after mining the gravel. 8:45 If you're okay with digging underground and 8 min nether enters, then maybe consider structureless overworlds? I think structureless averages 8 min for nether entering, but often less. But if you don't trust me and want real stats, Couriway's 100k challenge spreadsheet might be helpful to look at.

@@SamyliXD say, for example you have 60 gold, and 5 piglins. piglins trade gold every 5 sec. if you have 60 gold, that'd take 12 trade cycles, aka 60 seconds if you have 6 piglins, that's 10 trade cycles, which is 50 seconds. in a category as short as random seed glitchless, every second would count. Brock isn't a top runner, but with enough practice, they could make it there. It's just a good habit to get as many pigs as possible.

yeah its pretty abnormal to have your first 4 runs be sub 30 but to say you havent earned them is just incorrect. getting lucky is part of the game but these are NOT perfect seeds and every time you have managed to execute well enough to finish these runs in under 30 minutes. For example, your one cycles have been immaculate, which is something I struggled a lot when I started. Do NOT get in your own head about making these simple mistakes. You are brand new and putting up great times despite your inexperience with goofy little errors just making you better. Do not get embarrassed because you did something silly or didn't understand how the game worked. Learn from those mistakes because that is how you gain experience, even if you have make the same mistake multiple times. Put in the effort to remember next time and eventually it will become second nature. Practice maps/mods are great for finding those faults and I would highly recommend using them to fix those errors in your gameplay. Your improvement is already great and it won't be long before you look back at these runs to see how much better you have got in a short amount of time.
