We had to have our bathroom door widened by 6 inches - a new door already framed for install was installed - total cost out the door for our walkin tub, door widening, install and removal of old bathtub and tile, just a few dollars short of $20k. I believe it was $19,045 and some change to be exact. This was in March of 2020. We purchased from American Standard. I'm curious about what differences would amount to almost $8k

I... Did not know "walk-in bathtubs" were a thing until now. KZbin just wanted me to see this I guess. Regardless, I'm guessing walk-in tubs exist as like an accessibility thing? But how do you resist the temptation to open the door with all the water still inside? Sure, I'd imagine it might increase the chance of water damage on the property... But still... My problem is the handle won't turn at all. Completely frozen in the closed position. The hex screw doesnt turn either. What does it look like under the handle? Turn mechanism bearings or a bushing of some sort?
