So I just took this flight in October. Cabin service was great. Food was fine. 18 hours in a premium economy seat is horrible. Not doing it again unless I win the lottery and get business class seats 🤪. Next time I will break up the flight and take a rest somewhere. Now all that being said, Singapore Airport is absolutely incredible !

Brilliant trip report. Singapore Airlines B787-10 looks nice both inside and outside. I think Japanese airlines serve a higher quality meal than Singapore Airlines for flight between Singapore and Japan. Liked and subscribed

EWR is my home airport. Proud to say that we are home to the current longest flight route in the world (believe we beat the JFK one by just 10 minutes). Good video, helps me see what to expect when I take this route

I just did this flight about 5 weeks ago. Considering they promote the use of glass in their videos and just how special their PE is, I found SQ quite disappointing. Plastic cups and presentation was so disappointing as you can see in your video. But the crew were exceptional! Interested that your route shows you going over Russia, especially if it was only 1 moth ago. On my flight, around the time of the 2nd meal I opened the blinds to central Europe and we carried on down over Turkey, Pakistan and Northern India. It was a killer flight but I loved arriving into Singapore in time for a swim and cocktail before dinner and bed.

Indeed! They recently introduced new PE meal options and serviceware, although I'm not aware if they are still using plastic cups now. I flew this flight in 2019 before COVID-19 happened so the route might have changed to avoid Russian airspace. Hope you enjoyed your flight, notwithstanding the bad meal presentation!
@afcgeo882
@afcgeo882 13 күн бұрын
The actual route is affected by winds, so most of the time they do cross Russia in Siberia, but sometimes the winds shift it East, although Central Europe to Turkey would not be normal as that would take you over Ukraine.

were they strict with the checked baggage weight. How was the customer service?
@swnaviation3936
@swnaviation3936 8 ай бұрын
Nope, they are not that strict with the weight. A few kilograms off is fine usually, unless the ground agent is picky. Customer service as usual was great, as expected on Singapore Airlines.

Flew SQ 21 and 22 in April. I would take the flight again. The meals in business were far better on SQ22. Book the cook is the way to go for meals. I actually enjoyed the burger on SQ22 better than the lobster thermador. I tried the Singapore carrot cake before landing and it was delicious.

DYK Thai Airways was the first in Southeast Asia to fly non-stop from Bangkok to NYC using A340 back in the early 90's.

Great video. Just wondering, what type of camera did you use to record your video? It was very high quality. The way you recorded your video is very stable, did you use any sticky mount or just by hand? And what software app did you use to edit your youtube video and is it free to use? I am currently learning on how to record and edit my travel videos. Any advice is very much appreciated.

Yes, that is a very common complaint considering the price point. But good news, Singapore Airlines recently revamped the premium economy class meal offerings to offer more choices! They have also started using porcelain casserole instead of plastic casserole

Very informative video on the in-flight facilities. Thanks. I would have to say that the entertainment is great but the food is acceptable only. For a premium economy, I would have expected higher standard for the food. Yes, the portion is small (as you have indicated) but that's not too bad though. Nevertheless, stir-fried noodles for breakfast is certainly a let-down, especially for Singaporean and Malaysian travelers.

To be honest, Singapore Airlines' stir fried noodles taste really good on many of the flights I have flown although many think it is a budget breakfast

Hi there, I used my iPhone 15 Pro Max to film this, with a video setting of 4K 60 FPS. I did not use any mounts to film this so the videos are just taken by hand. Also, I used iMovie, a free video editing software on Apple devices to edit my videos, and added subtitles thereafter on KZbin. All the best on your travel videos!
