That "girl's" driver's license needs to be permanently revoked. I had to drive that detour myself back in August. Good grief, it's a two lane road, clearly marked no passing zone and the speed limit is only 55mph. Yeah, she doesn't have good judgement.

I am a bicycler in Houston Texas. Nevervtrust a car and the worst drivers are not just young drivers but those who insist on being on their phone. See it all the time, daily. Most drivers have to be #1 all the time. I glad to wait til the cars are past. If bicyclers drive as carelessly and selfishly as car drivers, bicycles will become relics like the horse and carriage. Born in 1955. During the 1970s I started driving truck by backing trucks into to washdown to wash out livestock pots. Next step hauling grain to the feedlot from local elevators and anhydrous ammonia to local outfits. In the 80s I moved to Colorado and started trucking seriously. I have hauled most cargo and pulled most of the trailers except for pneumatics and side dumps. I am still working in the industry, but I am a has been. That is still better than a never was!!!!

Teutopolis, illinois is my ole stomping grounds. I used cruise the strip in T-Town and Effingham back in the day. I joined the Navy right out of HS. I dont reside in my hometown but i do back and visit my family and friends. I pray for families and those lost souls .

It is obvious that the trucker saved that 17yo drivers life.from a head-on collision of the on coming semi. So there would have been a wreck of the hazard waste truck regardless of it driving off the road.

So awesome the driver had a dash cam or he would have took the blame, the Company my Wife and I have driven the last 19 years for installed a dash cam in our Big Truck and they've paid off twice now, my Wife was sideswiped by a drunk chick at 3am on 65 north in Nashville 2 years ago and once the TSP saw the video she was arrested for a DWI, then about a year and a half ago near Whitehouse TN on 65 south a pickup towing a ditch witch came down an entrance ramp, didn't yield to traffic in the work zone, my Truck, and ran into the side of my truck and tore up the side skirt and drive tire rims on the passenger side, when the TSP Trooper saw the video he released me from the scene but not before he chewed that Idiot out in front of me!!!😂😂

Don't know when this interview occurred but this 17 year old sounds EXTREMELY immature and ignorant. My point being, her statement about a tanker carrying ammonia through a residential neighborhood doesn't sound like something she thought of herself, and more likely something her mother or some other adult told her to say, BEFORE law enforcement had a chance to interview her, to deflect accountability. She doesn't seem bright enough to think about something like that.

Oncoming vehicle and she didn't see it's headlight when she started to pass? Truck driver moved to the right to save the people in the oncoming vehicle. Speed limit on all highways in IL is 55. Interstates are different. She admitted driving (90 mph) at least 35 mph over the limit.
