Say I have a "scary black rifle" that is locked in a pelican case in the back seat of my truck. I'm driving on the interstate through Illinois (just passing through) and pull off to get gas. What happens if there is an incident where the case or vehicle gets stolen? Would Illinois assist me (an out of stater who was a victim of a crime), or will they charge me for "supplying" a scary black rifle to a behaviorally challenged individual (aka criminal)? It'll probably be best to go around. Although commerce law allows for interstate travel, but why risk it.

I think that 5 gallon bucket with, say, 20 pounds of ammo and some basic long term survival items. When you store it in u usual ways, remember to mark in some fashion, your storage container. You don’t want to go to your storage spot in the pantry and have to go through 6 containers to find the one you want. I used a plastic container from my coffee creamer. It’s about 1,5 quarts. When I got to the ammo, simply by the weight; I knew this one the one. Talk about feeling like a stupid old man. Duh. It’s way heavier than the previous 5 containers that I popped the lids off of.
