I think if siege looked at a lot more stats than just kpm and win loss we'd have a lot better ranked system. Ranked 1.0 was good, ranked 2.0 is horrid. My favorite games are all ones that have ranked, because I'm a caveman, and I enjoy competing with others. I am a masochist, sorry.

Yeah I don't even play many PvP games anymore. Its not fun. People either take it too seriously, or not serious enough. Either they are crying about being killed the whole time, blaming lag and insulting everyone.... or they are there to be a jackass and ruin it cus... and I will admit its true... listening to tryhards melt down is funny. I play DayZ, thats really the only PvP game I play these days. And you are still pretty much solo despite there being 80 people in a server. Its so difficult to get to the PvP part that it keeps the casual jackasses away.

Competitive play is ruining sparking zero as we speak. This is why me and my fsmily still own classic old games. Sure the pixel art doesnt compare the 3d wornders but at least its pure fun. No rank, no sweats, no meta, just fun Also co-op is a lost but great part of games

I used to relax with turn based rpgs... now the true turn based rpgs trend towards overly complex mechanics to make up for the "boring" turn based gameplay. Other turn based rpg series have shifted to action rpg. So i just have to look for older rpgs that i never played to relax. Since learning a complex system to be effective in battle is far from relaxing and action rpgs require focus and energy, i just don't play games in general now.

With the rise of AI programs... a score system where the game's AI can predict stats based on decisions players make throughout the game and then calculate an "Expected Score" and then show the "Actual Score" at the end with the aforementioned Expected Score could alleviate a lot of players' gripes with teammates. My hypothesis would be that MOST players make pretty reasonable decisions which would inflate their expected scores and their actual score, based on small uncontrollable aspects of the game in tandem with their errors, can paint a much different picture for their teammates to see how they made good decisions but were unlucky or outskilled in the gunplay rather than assuming they are incompetent troglodytes. Conversely, what if we add more stats like a "Shooter Rating" that is a calculation of shot decisions, shot accuracy, damage output, kills, and assists similar to how Quarterbacks in Football are given "Passer Ratings" which calculates various statistics to create a grade which symbolizes their overall performance. It could be interesting to see a stat like that applied to shooters and mobas

I play games for personal improvement unless it’s a single player or a game like POE2. I don’t get tilted especially if I’m playing w the boys, if I see myself tilting I just hop off. Find the balance, in the meantime I’m going to sweat bc it’s fun for me.

I feel like you're stating a large amount of symptoms that stem from the actual issue. They are intentionally mixing highly skilled players with relatively poorly skilled players. This is a phenomenon that has been repeatably observed in almost every single game that uses matchmaking for the past decade. When highly skilled players are repeatably presented with data that proves that their personal enjoyment is being artificially ruined, they eventually derive a sense of contentment for the people that they're matched with. Highly skilled players know that their teammates are inept and the end-game results prove this consistently. I should not be the MVP/SVP of over half the games I play within a 6-person team setting. This results in a p-value of less than 0.0001 with respect to a pool of over 100 matches. Clearly, they are intentionally forcing skilled players to compensate wins for poorly skilled players. That's the issue, period. Nothing else.

I still play league, only when i had a certain amount of suspicies bavarage. Then its actualy fun, and since it places me in "my elo", and im not playing while not drunken it cant take my full potential into consideration, becouse i never play with it ;). The 2 worst parts about LoL are: 1. Jungle: Either your jgl is good enogh to make someone win, or good enogh to be equal to the enemy jgl or you lose the game 2. 4 man partys: They feel so elite in there comunication that they often act of themselfs and ignore that 1 other player (only playable if your jgl). Or they all decide youre 6 0 and its your fault that they suck and will flame you for not helping out while beeing constantly in a 1v2/3.

Score boards also have a big problem of valuing the wrong metrics, there is plenty of people that do what I call "damage farm" where they concentrate into doing things that improve their metrics but do not help the team, like lefting the point unattended to chase a flank to the ends of the earth, only attacking low health enemys to steal the kill and so on.

Toxic people are the reason competitive games are not fun. Not a single human on earth likes to be shittalked when doing nothing wrong.
@johnhalliday542021 күн бұрын
Video is clearly spreading misinformation, DBD has the most toxic community ever (or atleast it did, I've never noped out of a game completely like I have DBD after committing a large amount of time into it) Definitely a good video, although my counterpoint to the randomised role order is that matchups do not matter outside of pro play and possibly the very top of ladder. There are always things you can do when you do have a bad matchup and it seems like Riot makes it easier every year (increased exp range as an example). When a Jax main says they get counterpicked every game, you know there's no issue with matchups.

the rake remastered where every single person seems to be pulling the lever when the rake is glitched killing everyone inside despite everyone begging them not to:
Don’t play competitive games if you want to relax. There are several different genres that have amazing games without multiplayer and they are still legendary, immersive, and since we entered the DEI identity model, games now crash hard. Even if some games that are good come out. People ignore it due to the Company titles bad reputation with DEI implementation. Pattern recognition. Pushing these titles to really low prices by default. You can get so many games that are decent or great for real low prices.

Unranked IS comp. You're still playing "Versus". Save yourselves.
@MrLevaux23 күн бұрын
List of Games that don't stress me out or send me into a blinding rage: Solo Games: 1. Skyrim (Am I wrong?! xD) 2. Sims 4 3. Spider-Man/2 Coop: 1. The Borderlands Franchise (Literally a Looter Shooter) 2. Bauldr's Gate 3 3. Monster Hunter Rise Competitive: 1. Mortal Kombat 1 2. Halo (Cuz I rarely played comp fr. It was story and forge with the homies). 3. Tekken 8 (I like fighting games lol) Visual Novels: (Indie) 1. Tri City Monsters 2. Error 143 3. Cryptid Crush The games we've been playing invites: 1. Strangers of varying skill levels 2. Trolls/unsportsmanlike behavior 3. Gacha Mechanics With the games stated above you're more aware of when you're ready to put the game down. But the other games have yall glued into your seat until you get a level of satisfaction you'll never reach at the cost of your happiness, wallet, and health. THEN you have to go back to work after that. "bUt It'S fReE!" No it ain't. It eats up all your time as much as possible in hopes you drop a stupid amount of money on it. No thank you. I'll replay Spider-Man ty. Honestly I should've known Overwatch was a trap cuz there was no story mode. They even admitted they wanted more people to play comp but don't have a story mode to when we want to take a break from comp. Custom ain't always all of that and all the other modes you are put up against people. OW is worst than souls games tbh and I think I'd rather play COD cuz "Team Deathmatch" doesn't require nearly as much teamwork. Everyone's a DPS and you only have yourself to blame for dying in most situations. The comments are right. Please for your own sakes pick up a different game as your "After work" or "No braincell" kind of game. There is no relaxation in a game where you have to communicate and micromanage other human beings.
@MrLevaux23 күн бұрын
I'm not gonna watch this video only to get upset over the same things. Like the rest of the comments are saying, stop playing these particular games. Team based games that are NOT a basic shooter, like Overwatch & Marvel Rivals for example, are built with roles that hold people responsible for not performing well. That then becomes subjective because the score board isn't everything and some characters are built with niches. Other games like Genshin feels like you're going from one job to the next coupled with the "bright" idea to include gacha mechanics after years of people saying we hate microtransactions. They really decided to release games with MACROtransactions with a tortuous gambling system. You have the power to walk away from the games that stress you out. Say "You know what? This is stressful. I'm gonna play something else." These games are the toxic boyfriend that NEEDS to become an EX. These games are good. We wouldn't have played them otherwise. One of the games I grew up on was Warframe. The mic was off. If the grind wasn't so disrespectful I would still be playing it. It took me getting the flu and FINALLY getting an Oberon Prime around the time he debuted for me to uninstall the first time. Just because the game is good, doesn't mean it doesn't have volatile flaws. It can the community, it can be the devs, it can be the producer. Stop punking yourselves into believing anyone else is responsible for your happiness.

like after the first 5 min: This makes very clear, WHY i avoid multiplayer or ... better versus games like Hell. It's most likely just a piece of shit how it works. Those more experienced yells for the not that good players. On the other side meeting better yelling at them for beeing cheaters. I just don't want to have tp play like 50 hours to maybe getting good and beginning to being able to have the chance to have fun when even then it could just very often be just shit. I don't have something against versus games but when i maybe play them, then i play them like good old way with friends in the same room and even that it's long time since it last happened. Exeptions of that are a minor type of games which just shouldn't be take to serious just for that what they are like "Mario Kart" ... party games where kind of luck mechanics like items can go against pure skill, also the example of mario kart luckily have no shitty game integrated and not communicated voice chat existing. I just remembering playing the "for honor" alpha with a friend cause she got some keys where where in discord not knowing that this game has an integrated voice chat until someone suddenly started speaking. So this kind of more and more integrating voice chats and don't get the idea to inform players that it exists is just another point on top NOT to play any versus game with just some random guys in the internet. Also, I just stopped whatching the rest of the video at like 14:55 cause of the audio mixing. When i turn volume for beeing you good to hear musics like there everytime are shitty loud on the ears. Just like i would watch any kind of commerical cinema film at home (°x°). I just hate that kind of mixing audio and forcing people to regulary adjust the volume while watching so i just stop to watch on. But in the end interessting topic. Just zapped in cause it sounds interessting but cause it seems to be more (or just) pointing out to versus games well yeah it seems like i'm also just not the target of that video.
