the older I get the less I like this. deer for meat is one thing. a few birds to get for a nice dinner. fine. but trophy hunting? nah and you can all eff off if you can't bear to hear the other side from an old hunter

I know the bear is the star of the show, but that was such a great clip of the young buck stopping dead in his tracks when he (I presume) winded you. Needs the ole record scratch sound effect when he puts on the brakes.

Fellow ADK hunter as well. I don't think k John Holmes truly understood why your dad was WTF when he found out he shot a spike. But as you and I both know we have the deer we do in the Adirondacks due to no DMP tags. Either sex with bow or muzzleoader. This Day and video is the EPITOME of what hunting is about. Memories you will carry for a lifetime Hu ting with your father and many meals enjoyed retelling stories of past hunts.

It's a tracker thing, the fire, sandwich and some time spent with the animal before the long drag out of the woods. Nostalgia in a way, at least that's the way I see the video.....nothing I'd rather be doing after a long track than this.
