Have you made any programming/reflashing of TCU? I see that you made exactly the downshift I'd like to see and your transmission works fine, mine jolts. I mean it's only about manual mode 4th to 3rd, 50-60 km/h and zero acceleration pedal depressed, and only in that circumstances but it jolts. Every other gear, every other speed, every other change it works fast and smooth but this one situation. I recorded a video with data gathered using RomRaider and I see AT Turbine Speed Sensor 1 revolutions that should be down to 0, yet there's 400 to 600 and then TCU forces Front Brake to shift but anyway I don't wat to bother you with my issue, just curious if you were making any repairs/programming to your 5EAT? There are downshift with and without jolting throughout whole video, but the best jolt at 6:50 kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y17MoX6MrbOMg9E

Stock TCU tune. Is it possible that there's something hardware related wrong with yours?
@Voy-T
@Voy-T 2 ай бұрын
@@JTmotoIt could be so, I consider that possibility too, but what is surprising, mine, when downshift as described is revving a bit higher before gear is shifted and still jolts, yours does not rev at all and yet the 3rd gear is shifted smooth and precisely. Mine downshift 4-3 like yours but under 50 km/h (as seen on video anyway) but above Front Brake pressure is given in a strange way, different than any other and then jolts. I mean the same way of pressure is given on higher speeds when it does not jolt. When engine revs goes higher, AT Trbine 1 goes down, and the opposite way, I've searched this on the Internet but seems like not much is known abut this issue..

@@Voy-T you don't apply gas on downshifts, right? Just a thought as these rev match on their own. (And do so pretty well) Tbf it could also come down to some sensor being on its way out?
@Voy-T
@Voy-T 2 ай бұрын
@@JTmotoYes, I usually don't, actually I never do except for this one case as in any other case it is shifting perfectly fine but in 50-60 km/h in manual mode 4->3 downshift with no gas almost always means jolt if I don't apply gas there. In my video I linked in first comment I'm showing what's happening with a lot of downshifts 4->3 with no gas at different speeds, however in 6:20 just after shifting down I depressed accelerator (seen in Throttle bar) and although it is revving by itself there is no reaction at all for my gas applying until 3rd gear is finally shifted and only then the power is back. Later, in 6:33 there is downshift with no gas at all but as the speed is higher than 60 (alternatively 65) km/h transmission is revving the egnine and the shock never occures so it does it as perfect as it should be, but in 6:50 again I downshift with no gas, engine is revving and yet it jolts. What's most strange is that in exactly the same circumstances (the same Line Pressure, the same Front Brake pressure and even speed is exactly the same) in first case it does it perfectly fine and in second case it jolts, so it does not even happen every time in those specific condotions. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnbHd4BtqJaka9E

Not a cheap mod but if the car is a long term keeper might be worth the trouble.

It's hardly past the limit, you really need decent tires and a set of hands. The car should've been a keeper, but I traded it in a few years ago. I probably wouldn't have done the swap, because it would've cost a fortune. The 45/55 rear biased split with VTD was pretty nice on its own. This one is 45/55 bias with some sort of computer assisted distribution. All manuals are 50/50 split, but Sti models have dccd which allows them to control the torque distribution via a knob in the center console. Personally I liked this rear biased split a lot.

Of course I don't have much experience in drifting, but the transmission of this car also plays a role here. I have a mechanic, it is more rear-wheel drive. That is why I twist the steering wheel and steer in the direction of the skid, not in the direction of travel.

@@JTmoto The working principle is the same as in the 4-eat. All-wheel drive is not permanent, although it has the advantage of rear, but it is switchable.
