We have a place in baguio so I have a good idea but I have yet to test it there, I think for most areas in baguio it should be fine, the 85nm torque is more than enough.

The Mitsubishi Xpander GLS can't compete with the Chevrolet Captiva LTZ, and the same goes for the Xpander Cross versus the Captiva Premium. As far as performance is concerned, the Captiva blows the Xpander into the weeds. Yet fools queue up for the Xpander. I really don't get it. The Captiva really should be a sales success, but, knowing Filipinos, they'll stick with the wimpy Xpander. Gotta run with the herd, uy!

Will you pick this BYD seal5 DMi over MG3 Hybrid, Coolray, Emzoom?
@testdriveph6 күн бұрын
Tough choice, if the goal was to save money, I'd go full Electric ie BYD seagull. The crossovers are way more fun to drive, but if the goal was to save and do it all in 1 car, then Seal 5 is a smart choice

Unfortunately, this is not built and made in USA. Very rarely they build 7 seater MPV with 1.5L, and for only 1.4M php? Nope. Definitely not U.S.
@testdriveph8 күн бұрын
True, it's manufactured in China. 😊
@gaufrid19563 күн бұрын
All the Fords and Chevrolets for the Asian market are built in China. That's no surprise. For example, Fords are built at the Changan factory. The factory is even badged "Changan Ford". The seven seater MPV/SUV is very much an Asian vehicle. If you look at the features and performance of even the LTZ version of the Captiva, it knocks out the champ, the Mitsubishi Xpander. That wimp has only one advantage, a 45mm higher ground clearance. In reality that doesn't mean much. Performance is what counts. Most of the Japanese models on the road these days are not built in Japan. All Kia models are made in China too. Hyundais are made in Indonesia, as are all the Toyota MPV/SUV models. The badge simply indicates the company that designed it. Mostly. Since Nissan, Mitsubishi, Renault and now Honda are a consortium, they will share platforms. For example, the Nissan Livina is a Mitsubishi Xpander in a slightly different body. Slightly. Only fools count out a better performing vehicle because of where it's put together.

This car has the best power to weight ratio of any 1.5 liter MPV or SUV on sale in the Philippines, by a very large margin. The closest to it is probably the Chevrolet Captiva. You can forget any of the Japanese and Korean models if power and torque and space are what you are looking for. I haven't bought a car in the Philippines yet (I'm Aussie living in Cagayan de Oro Mindanao) but as my wife would like a seven seater MPV, I'd have to consider the MG G50. The caveat is that MG was rated the most unreliable car company in the UK in 2023. This was heavily influenced by their high selling but very poor MG4 EV. I suspect that the G50, being the same as the Maxus G50, and having an ICE turbocharged 1.5 liter engine jointly designed by SAIC and General Motors, is likely to be reliable. The Maxus G50 has been sold in the Philippines since 2020, so parts should be available. Free services for the first year, and a five year warranty, are both good points. Every new car I've owned since 1978 has been Japanese. They'll need to twist my arm a lot to get a sale this time around. I'll go as far as to say that if any of the Japanese models in this category had the same power and torque and space of the MG G50, and was priced at 1.3 million pesos or below, it would be the best selling car in the Philippines. Especially if it had a Toyota badge.

when I check the group chat of cherry tiggo 2 pro owners in the Philippines the only common issue for this Car is the Fuel Hose kasi madaling masira. Pero naka warranty naman sa Casa. May kilala ako 2 times sya magpapalit every year. Sometimes biglang hindi umandar yung car na to.

kinda rare for a reviewer to take a look into the Manual version of the Alsvin. 6:20 from what i hear in Changan groups, there are a few Alsvins in GrabCar and JoyRide Car. Meron ako nakita sa Tagaytay. we own the 1.5L DCT version of this, it's a good daily driver. very fuel efficient, and powerful here you need it. small quirks are the cup holders are small, no smartphone link, and you gotta understand how to accelerate with a DCT engine.
