I just toured this boat quickly here in Vava'u Tonga today because it was anchored next to me in the anchorage. Nice boat. Needs a couple navigation instruments updated but clean looking and sleek. It is kept clean and shoes not accepted on board with current owners. Huge clean engine room and forward locker as mentioned in the video.

Thinking the same. My downeast style goes out any day (within reason). My friends with boats like this only ever go out on absolutely perfect days. Maybe in Florida there are enough nice days it doesnt matter though.

I sailed this boat with the previous owner from Solomons MD to St. Thomas. 14 days through some serious blue water. He went on to single hand the boat all the way to Grenada. Just an incredible cruising sailboat. Looks like the solar panels have been removed from the rear arc. Add those back and a Starlink antenna and she probably ready to go anywhere you want. Josh didn’t completely show it but the systems are very well laid out. There’s a remote scavenger pump connected to the engine, transmission and gen set to make oil changes a 10 minute job. The bilge pumps are mounted on stainless flat bars that make removing the pumps and float switches a 2 minute job… the list goes on and on.

Is the keel Encapsulated or Integral? Or bolt on to a stub? Is there a washing machine? I would expect one in a cruising yacht of this calibre.

Nice relax before bed just my type so would have loved inside tour too! Love the water entry but do love aft master with windows across back to look out(reverse bed). Tell me do you prefer in mast or in boom sail for blue water solo? I feel in boom would leave a stronger mast + less weight if ever rolled.

She is in fact a 2020. Hull #68, the very last Hylas 49 built. Perfect condition.

@@DavidWaltersYachts Interesting. I love that design, the cabin woodwork isn’t as squared off as their recent designs, still looks like a boat down below. And the current euro boats look so angular and minimalist, like a Japanese hotel room.

I would love to see a review that compares the COX diesel outboard to the OXE diesel outboard. Either way, diesel outboards are the future.

This was a fun presentation and informative. However, I'm a bit surprised and disappointed that a Cherubini 44 or 48 was not on the list. In my view they are as classic as any boat out there. Very fast, sea kindly, low draft and absolutely gorgeous. Dolf.

I'm not so sure. A new build of similar quality would be $1.5 to $2M with a 2 -3 year wait. It truly depends on which systems have been upgraded in the last 5 years.
