Just chilling in Alabama. I had to move for work. Things started getting busy and crazy. I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. Maybe I'll start something up again. But it might not be dirt bike related.

I use the cheap harbor freight tire changing stand. With practice, it works perfectly well and for less than the Tusk.

I'm still a beginner. I was riding on a hardpack dirt trails with rock here and there. I was standing and going about 20 mph. I was not looking far enough ahead and my front tire hit a 10 inch tall rock. It knocked me off the trail but because I was standing, I was able to recover. Looking ahead is extremely important. Thanks for you videos!

Oh man I stopped making them cuz I thought nobody was watching! Just kidding! I just had some major life changes. I'm in Alabama now. Not much time for making dirt bike videos with my new job. But I've been thinking a lot about making some content for KZbin. It just might not have dirt bikes in it. I just can't invest the time it takes to get that kind of content and then write a script for it and make a video.

I have a similar one to task, I ended up raising the top ring (welded it higher) so I can pop the tyre down. After quite a bit of modification mine works well.

Hi Joe! I just stumbled across this video - one of the BEST!! #1 your riding skills have improved remarkably!#2 THAT VIEW!! Who knew Huachuca had such amazing trails and scenery. #3 Again, your skills at producing videos and telling stories ranks at the top of my favorites. It's great to hear/see you again, Joe.🤠

We aren't in shape to run decathlon. Sit as often as necessary and when cornering. Standing is mostly for clearing obstacles. It requires too much energy to stand all the time.
@JoeRockstar
@JoeRockstar 9 ай бұрын
You should not accept being out of shape. If being too tired to stand is an issue, you should be motivated to get in shape. When you are moving fast obstacles come up quick. You want to be in position to handle those as quickly as possible. If you are standing, you're ahead of the game.

I have the same Tusk tire changer. I took mine and had a 18" base welded onto it that cost me less than $50 dollars at my local muffler shop works like a charm. Just like you found out, first time I used it I knew it needed to be taller and more stable now it's awesome

Ummmm.... you pushed the new tire on the rim no problem. Before that you moan about the prying tongue of the Tusk being too short? Why didn't you just pull it off by hand? Sheesh. Lazy people.

There’s a huge difference in price from cheap gear to name brands. So we’re not merely “saving a few bucks”.
@JoeRockstar
@JoeRockstar Жыл бұрын
There's also a difference between cheap in price and cheap in quality. I'm talking about low quality crap that looks legit but doesn't offer any real protection. Usually this goes hand-in-hand with lower priced items, which lures people into a false sense of security with substandard gear. Not to mention how fast these things wear out or break and then I end up spending twice...But hey man it's your body. Do what you want. That's my tip.

@@JoeRockstar yeah, I didn't know they existed, I am intrigued, but I need long haul reliability on the road.
@JoeRockstar
@JoeRockstar Жыл бұрын
In that case you have to go with Tubes. The key is to be careful not to pinch them with your tire spoons. If you use a heavy duty tube along with putting some grease on the tube it helps prevent the spoons from pinching.

The Tusk is supposed to be mounted in your 2" receiver on your truck. That gets it off the ground and gives you more leverage. FAKE REVIEW!!!

I promise you the review is real and not a figment of your imagination. The rabaconda comes mounted above the ground. The tusk version that did not. I used both of them the way they came out of the box. Good luck on your search for a good tire changer

Hey I haven’t seen any new videos in a while. Are you still racing AMRA? Any plans to make videos again? Thx!
@JoeRockstar
@JoeRockstar Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately 2020 was garbage for me. Wife and I had a split, Covid jacked up the season and then the AMA banned helmet cams. It all put a damper on me. Then I got fat again and lost a lot of motivation. Finally I got an offer I couldn't refuse at a new job...in Alabama. So I am living in Alabama now. I am considering racing here, but I have a lot of work to do to get back in shape and get riding again. The problem here is that unlike AZ where there were plenty of riding areas, Northern Alabama is not like that. My wife and I have reconciled and she will be moving here eventually and when things settle down, I will be looking at getting something on the channel again. Thank you so much for watching the videos.

For $650ish you can just buy a No Mar tire changer. You could even do car/truck and street motorcycle tires with it. You can use it on your receiver hitch if you want. Buy once, cry once and if these options are expensive to you idk what to say honestly. The pay themselves off quickly imo.
