Thanks for the video. I think i would check the nut slots for proper set up specs. Once you fret a note, the nut/tuners are out of the equation. I play acoustic and when its more difficult to play a cowboy chords the nut slots are to high (or after replacing the nut). Thx again for an informative video.

Great job. You showed everything in order of process. Also having the dummy cards with numbers located where those relate to the position on the guitar is pure genius. Again great vid. Thank you for taking the time.

I just bought a Mustang PJ last week and realized blending the pickups is more desirable than merely switching between them. Thanks for this info.

thanks for the tips! I have a 100% stock charvel pro mod so cal 1 and my high E would only have about 1.5 seconds of sustain on the 15th fret after doing this it definitely increased slightly hopefully I can get some more out of it

in your vid you should have lowered tailpiece then top wrapped and had tailpiece closer to body or plush for best sustain. also works for pickups. best sustain is from lower and less vibration . thats why some makers fix their pickups to the body
@mdub1762

Jimmy Page did it so he could get the tailpiece hammered down to body and get more sustain. . his words. ther angle makes no difference unless its so extreme that the string touches the bridge as it goes back to tail piece. my 2 cents

Thank you for making this video. I was able to salvage my bass that no longer worked because of presumably dead electronics in the active circuit. Now I have a working bass again and it sounds better!

chiropractic guitar neck technique. it makes the strings feel softer to bend up to the fullest to make the note sound longer. But it sounds dull/muddy when strumming or finger picking because of the loss of tension on the strings.

Humbucker are different to „classic“ Singlecoils. Rising the screws will weaken the output at this string. It is d design issue, completely irrational to common suggestions. The original P.A.F has no adjustable Polpeaces in the Patent, because the inventor knows this behavior. Don’t fiddle with your Polepece hight, instead adjust the Pickup as a whole. Everything else ist contraproductive and a kind of useless.

#1. Drill holes for weight reduction. #2. Thin the neck. #3. Straighten the string angles, nut to tuning keys. #4. Buy a guitar with useable ergonomics. Something that was not designed 74 years ago.

The bridge with the wire is just a very poor design. If you have the intonation screw / wire rattle just replace the bridge with Gotoh tunomatic bridge, it has no wire and more saddle adjustment. You won't have the bridge rattle anymore.

Thanks for this video, mate. Is there a problem on having the pickups like this? I mean, a tone problem.

I’ve got a buzzing bridge (Korean Song-il) and it doesn’t have a wire. It has circlips holding the screws in and they rattle like crazy. So I got a Gotoh GE103B-T set and my oh my is it made a LOT better.

I prefer direct mounted pickups on looks alone. It looks so clean. I’ve passed on guitars I liked just because I couldn’t get past the pickup rings. The only guitars I’ve actually thought they looked good on were prs.

I thought I would try a wound G string. Then I realized why it didn't sound as loud as the others. The core is smaller. So....they will all be switched soon.

hey folks have been doing this since, banjo strings started going on guitars. After you find the sweet spot, you may want to heat up the pole again, then let it cool with out letting it move. This should 'glue' it tight, for you. I am wondering if I can get away with this with a Jazzmaster pick up. The D out put is way low. Thanks.

I have used threaded inserts - like those from nectite. It improved tonality a lot, maybe cause of better contact between neck and body...

Is there any way you can draw me a diagram of an HS setup so the bridge humbucker reads 500k and a neck single coil reads 250k using 1 volume pot & 1 tone pot and a 3 way toggle switch? I can't find a diagram nor have I found anybody willing to draw me a diagram. This is the closest video I've found to what I need. It's going into a customized epiphone Les Paul Junior I did. I would be most grateful if you can draw me a diagram so I can visually see it and learn. Cheers.

Neck-through Strats?
@keesgroen1814
@keesgroen1814 Ай бұрын
Great trick i've been using on my Tele's and Strat for some time now. I remove the pickguard before resetting the neck. Even had to take something off the pickguard near the control plate to make it fit again which shows how much space there is when it leaves the factory. Also acoustically the guitar really sings to you after doing this.
