Despite blacking out everything I like the display on. I actually turned it off for awhile and turned it back on. I have my quirks.

I'm a huge David Fincher fan. If you haven't, try checking out some of his other movies. He makes good movies.

Its been a while. And, I don't recall the blu-ray. But, Fincher worked on this release directly. He mentioned making a number of changes, cleaning it up, rendering the 4K from an 8K scan. Based on his comments, the restoration team put in the work to make this as good as possible and in line with his vision. For all his and the restoration team's efforts, this should be the best it will look.

Yes. The tweeter for the 661 was oriented so that the speaker could be positioned horizontally.

I thought both looked great. But, both are huge. So, you'll need to be mindful of space and placement. Performance-wise, I lean slightly toward the S21 IPAL-M. But, I had two of those. So, not quite apples-to-apples.

Overall, I wanted a bit more from the audio. Some scenes were actually quite good. Still a great movie.

Both are great speakers in my opinion. But, very different. The 661 SW/R is a 2-way speaker with a AMT tweeter. The MTM-212 is a 3-way with a horn design. The 212 dives a bit deeper while the 661 extends well into those higher frequencies. The 212 is also a monster of a speaker. Its huge and bigger in person than it may appear in the video. The 661 is very compact. If space is limited, RBH for sure. Plenty of quality output in a relatively small speaker. The 212 is an output monster. Tons and tons of output and power while staying very clean. There is something very distinctive about a horn based driver that is appealing to my ear--personally. But, I found myself impressed by the AMT driver and those highs were crystal clear. Also, being so compact, you could easily use the 661 around a room for ever channel--LCRs, surrounds and overheads. Overheads would be a stretch but it could work. You can't go wrong with either. Solid builds. But, they are very different. It will depend on your personal taste. In summation, for pure unadulterated power and output and if you're into that distinct beautiful horn sound--212. For a smaller footprint, beautifully crystal clear highs (note the 212 also has beautiful highs but the 661 covers more of the frequency range) and the opportunity to have exact matching speakers across the room--661. Hopefully that's somewhat helpful. It got a bit long but very good question.

Oppenheimer was on my 2023 top ten. I have an earlier release of Interstellar. I'm pretty sure the collector's edition released this year has the same 4K specs. I didn't pick it up and its essentially the same release. So, it wouldn't make my 2024 list. And, I'm not a big fan of the Venom movies. Regardless of the AV quality, I didn't enjoy any of the movies. So, it wouldn't make this particular list.

@stillbluehometheater1056 but in torrent, a lot of remux , remastered version of Interstellar movie are there with Dolby truehd 7.1 in 4k imax format instead of old technology dts hd. Also with Dolby vision, hdr10.... So you also can download and experience the immersion of this movie at current... So if are interested then try it ....I'm experienced that powerful cinematic experience in this version of the movie!!!!

I own RBH myself and they are my end game speakers. RBH does offer a wide range of speakers from world class towers to some of the best subwoofers on the planet. You should check them out.

Glad I picked-up The Terminator on 4K. I had only seen it on broadcast TV with commercials, edits, and poor A/V quality. Definitely check out Dune: Part 2 and A Quiet Place: Day One. I enjoy those movies.

I streamed it. I thought audio and video quality was good. I imagine the 4K blu-ray would be even better. Didn't quite enjoy the movie as much as I hoped. And, not enough to pick it up on release day. But, I'll pick it up on sale.

Good video. My Dolby Atmos upmixer sounds better than most Atmos mixes. I used to buy 4K for the Atmos tracks, now it's for HDR.

@terryhoward6583 yeh it was OK. Must admit i was grinning like a Cheshire cat with the dolby atmos tho, I have a 5.2.4 set up ( all I can fit in due to the size and design) and it really is an experience. Surprised spare change have never reviewed it.

Excellent. I went with Criterion for the sale. But curious if the BFI release is drastically different in video quality.

@@stillbluehometheater1056 I’ve seen a few reviews comparing both transfers and it’s a mixed bag. Some compliment the DV’s hue contrast improvement over the Criterion but also say that Criterion did more to correct source issues. So it’s like a 50/50 more about preferences. I do think the Big case BFI treatment is a plus but albeit at a cost. Can’t go wrong either way is my opinion.
