"Knees Up, Mother Brown"... a case of the comma being a very important inclusion in keeping a sense of propriety to the phrase !

I'm 72 and in Australia. My mother had her copper in our laundry which she continued to use for curtains and heavy clothes long after we used a washing machine. Our laundry had a wooden square hoist above a mangle and two deep cement washing tubs. I think I was about 11 when she removed the copper. We weren't poor because we had a house keeper but she never did cleaning or washing. My mother did all that. The housekeeper Just cooked and talked a lot 😂 I always remember my mother struggling with clothes in the steaming copper with a broom stick thing.

What is he talking about? Approx. every second part Dafoe takes is a character based on another Dafoe character from the past. Something he's done to an extent which has been rendering some audience weary of him.

If this film is appealing, then i would also personally recommend 'Plague Dogs'.

such a funny pairing, Brett is really intelligent and great with Emotional writing like in Shrinking and Denis is very cerebral and focuses on images creating an emotional response more than the writing itself, two very cool sides of a coin.

Ah!!! The Little Match Girl!! The Hans Christian Anderson story that's THE MOST difficult to get through!! Dark, grim, and very sad. I've seen a number of films that try to set it, including the relatively recent Disney animation, but none of them quite captures the almost nihilistic darkness of the story. This one is pretty good though. The child actor is an excellent embodiment of the poor little girl

Chor Yuen directed The House of 72 Tenants(1973). He also directed the martial arts-drama The (B-word/Xiao za Zhong)(1973) starring Lily Li and Tsung Hua.

Can someone please just tell me how I can recreate the gradient/glow effect surrounding the silhouette on the Friday The 13th (1980) movie poster in a digital painting? I am trying to make a tribute/parody image.

Overrated low budget trash. Violence is sadistic.

I am 59 years old now and the Singing Detective is so profound. About 21 on a first viewing. The young Philip Marlow was incredible as a young actor. Bought the DVD but it did not survive very well so I had to look elsewhere for more content. 'The Elm the Oak the Beech and the Ash! What were you doing with that man? You know, shagging!'

I am trying my best day and night to reach him one day, the day I will be successful enough for him to choose me 😅❤️ I really fell in love with him but I can't even get close to his country. Either I will get you one day or I will go to my grave remembering your love and your eyes. I fell in love and if he gets married soon, I won't get married again because I won't find a more beautiful girl than her. ❤️‍🩹I wish I could tell him this.

1: Suffragettes were not campaigning for universal suffrage. Most working class men didn't have a vote in 1913. The Suffragettes were campaigning only for votes for upper class and middle class women. 2: Their campaign did not achieve anything. It was the actions of women of all classes in the factories and farms of World War One that achieved votes for women. Indeed the suffragettes were against the right of most of these women getting the vote. 3: Emily Davidson's actions were not victimless. The jockey whose horse she brought down remained haunted by her image for the rest of his life. He never fully mentally recovered and eventually took his own life.

When Hindus rape, kill, brutalize, and abuse people of their own faith based on caste, those abused will sooner or later convert to other religions. Nothing wrong or unnatural about that. When a person is born into a faith that is brutal to him or her, they have every right to walk away from that faith to another one in the hopes of a bit more dignity.

My parents thought that anything animated was for kids so I saw this and Fritz the Cat on TV when I was 6 in 1982. They are both burned on my brain and you realise that Werner Herzog was terrifyingly right when he said that what we think are the lovely sounds of nature are actually the sounds of collective murder😂

They also created historical atmosphere using just candle light and I could still see everything in the room. Other directors take note! No mumbling of words from the actors either. Great drama commissioned by the BBC. Well worth the licence fee!
