Vinyl listener for well over 50 years. I pretty much overhalled my entire hi-fi a couple of years back when I retired. I went with the 2M Bronze and couldn't be happier. It complements my system very well.

Worth mentioning as Soundboks are bad at explaining things is that a new battery has arrived with the same capacity but which is charged with a different charger (C connector) With a SB charger of 65w the battery is then charged in 2 hours and the speaker can be played on full volume while charging. This charger is not included but costs extra.. The battery is also more expensive than before so check which one is included before buying.

I had to respond to this one. My little channel as a hobbiest was founded on unusual formats and a love of colored vinyl and picture discs. I have literally hundreds from the 78rpm era to now, from swing and kids stuff to funk, classic rock, horror soundtracks and extreme metal. Even Italian prog rock picture discs. My first was the 1973 Walt Disney world Electric Water Pageant park exclusive 7 inch, soon after I got my first Honeycomb cereal box record... a flexi pic disc of The Legend of Sleepy hollow then at just five years old still seeing how fascinated I was by these I was gifted 1946 Vogue R715 Sugar Blues by Clyde McCoy. The addiction to them never stopped. About 15 years back I lost my entire collection but have replaced two of these, the sleepy hollow instead with a like art pressing of the ghost story "The Hitch Hiker." I love collecting music in general and always have but am certain picture discs will continue to be very special to me. In answer to the questions at the end of the video... YES to all. Two in particular: picture disc that surprised me with sound quality... Cinevox press of Goblin's classic lp Roller sounds very good. As for bad... I got some later disney pic disc reissues with vinyl fill skip problems... also there is a golden Willy Wonka soundtrack that appears almost like colored vinyl but it's intense brightness is achieved by it being a foil picture disc. One side sounds great, the other like the stylus is just dragging on that foil surface beneath the groove. A loud papery hiss. It really is a pretty one though...

My Man! So very cool to find a younger person that loves vinyl as I do. I'm a retired 64 year old that has every record I've purchased since 1973. Only about 1600 of them. You talk about moving with records. I moved with my employers 6 times in the US, and now I'm in a different country 3000 miles from my old home. This last move I had to figure out how to pack and protect my records during a one week trip on a container ship. I was so very happy and relieved when they arrived at my new home with no damage at all. When my time on the planet is over, I'm passing them on to my daughter who has a nice collection of her own. Vinyl will always live on. Best to you. Thanks for the video.

Vinyl forever and I hate when brand new records are scuffed, scratched, or have fingerprints out of the factory. Debris is one thing because that's just part of the process but I remember the QC being really bad a few years ago. I even had a scuff that I thought looked like a sticker or adhesive on an RSD 2016 release that would cause skipping. If you're also into shellac like I am, those records are especially heavy despite most of them only being 10", though I feel like 200g LPs have a similar heft. I also love the smell of liner notes and jackets.

I get great joy from this channel as usual and of course there's the popular joke about the expense and inconvenience being the appeal of vinyl. There is some truth to that since the inconvenience forces you to slow down and enjoy the moment and the expense goes into the fun of modular playback.

Another reason is it gives you the most active DJing experience, where you have to flip or swap the record each song... aka "Exercise"

Pozdrawiam.

Because of my heritage and what I always heard in my parents' home, I love "Christmas in Germany." It is a 1958 pressing by Capitol Records. Also, a warm and joyous Christmas album is "To Wish You a Merry Christmas" by Harry Belafonte (RCA Records - 1958).

I just realized this year that my favorite Christmas album is....... 🥁🥁🥁🥁.....Alexander O'Neal My Gift to You. Front to back I rock with this album. I wish it had a bit more of that Minneapolis Sound that dominated the 80s but it's a solid album. A close second is Christmas with the Whispers by the Whispers. With records, I judge not just by the quality of individual songs but also if albums can be played continuously. So even if the highs aren't as high as other albums, being able to just drop the needle and walk away is a sign of ultimate playability. Which will elevate any record in my opinion.

More or less I agree with everything you said, but for me the No1 problem is the cost. Vinyl collecting was never an inexpensive hobby but since 2020-2021 prices have skyrocketed. I saw an album that I bought for 22 euros now selling for 30, only 12 months later ! 26-27 euros is now considered "normal" for an album (it used to be 18-20 euros). And the worst thing is that this is just pure greed. I am really grateful that I started collecting in 2017, because now it would just impossible for me to acquire my current collection without costing and arm and a leg (and maybe a kidney)

Vinyl Forever! Great vídeo! In my opinion, the only good thing with vinyl, or what fascinates me more in vinyl, are the big glossy gatefold covers. So, what annoys me most with vinyl records is receiving in the mail a damaged cover. All new vinyl records should also bring a CD and then we would have the best of both worlds, beautiful covers and digital sound in case of warped or scratched records!

God, I've got a super rare 1/5 test press I bought straight from an artist about 2 years ago that I've been doing (mainly ineffective) groove surgery on. He sent it to me with a massive scratch in it that makes one of the best tracks unplayable, and I'm so sad I can't consider it part of my collection 😢 that's not one I could just get replaced either

I've just gotten into this hobby and yes! It is so expensive now then when they first made them, haha. Also, scalpers do not help at all. Since I'm young I'm more into the newer artist and scalpers are taking all the ones I want and reselling for so much. It is so sad honestly because I know ill use them. Like for example, I want the new arcane soundtrack for season two, but scalpers sold them all out when they came out. But I'm also mad at the company because they should know that it'll be a hot item. What can you do, though. :/
