I have spent hours with the POS Printer. Most $100 Thermal Printers automatically calibrate label gaps simply by holding down the power button. Hey Epson - You SUCK! Hope you read this and buy a $100 thermal printer, then take it apart and learn how to do a simple function so the rest of us can get our damn work done instead of screwing around all day with your crappy build.

I understand where you are coming from, it’s all about working smarter and not harder. You have done the right thing changing your job and profit structure. You need profit to sustain your business so choosing the right job and not just any job is important as well as cash flow so try and avoid running accounts. These good jobs do take time to filter through, however you are making contact with potential customers which is great. You will only need 2 or 3 good ones that will really help your business to grow. Shooting KZbin videos can be good but on its own it is not going to deliver the return you hope for, for the amount of time you put into it. It’s normally just a part of other streams of income because the ROI is not great on its own unless you have say 100,000+ subscribers and your videos are getting the views. Generally KZbin is subsidised with online classes, sponsorship, affiliate links, etc. Social media is important these days and will definitely help your business but its a tiered approach, Facebook and Instagram can be a benefit. Things are tougher at the moment but once you get through this, the business will grow with all the preparation you’re putting in now. The business can work even with family and other commitments it will just take a bit more time. Run the business thrifty and try and stay focussed on it, it’s not the amount of hours you put into it, it’s the quality of time you put into the hours. I had a business for 20 years running multiple printers and staff, it was also tough at the start and l know times have changed since then but there are some things which are still the same in business. Just my thoughts. 😊

Hi Mike Sorry you cut down on the video's. It's hard to start a business, I have had mine for 13 years. Started with craft tools and pencils and so. Sold a lot, but the competition is too hard, not so profitable. I am a professional programmer, so why should I ship pencils for no money, when I can use the programming to start a print business. The competition is also hard for printing labels, posters and stickers. Instead I build my business around graphics programming, with fixed templates for my print products or the customer can upload their own design. Send me a CSV/Excel file and so on. This spares me for setup time and any graphic adjustments, i get the order and press print. Nice and easy. I print only on laser printers because the print is waterproof. Specilacie in QR codes, Barcodes and any technical print. For the last year I have printed ID cards and coded ID Card chips. With no setup this is a good business. Started with a "cheap" printer 1200$, don't do that. 3 of 4 prints were of bad quality. So I bought an expensive maschine for about 4000 $ and every print is perfect. Love to create new products, my latest purchase is a button badge machine. Have programmed some templates for the badges. I also have a daytime job I like and after I really learned how it is to have my own business, I don't want to be self-employed. Too much stress and constant trying to get customers. I get 5-6 orders pr. week, and this is enough for me. Not the money, but I don't have time for more. Are planning to make some videos like yours. About my products, my printers quirks and their strange behavior. I think it's important to find a niche to earn money. If you do like all your competitors you have to sell very big quantities to make an income. Kindly Lars My website (in danish) monbjergpil.dk

Thank you for your update, Mike! Sorry to hear your business has slowed down. I've been a freelance graphic designer and printer for 15 years and usually the last quarter of the year is my slow period. Then it ramps back up Jan-March. In April, I leased a Happy Japan 15 needle embroidery machine and a Mimaki CJV-150. $600/mth for both. It was rocky learning the ins and outs of the machines, but l tapped in to my established customer base and got many orders, but then l got lazy and didn't use either machine for about 3 months. I'm now $2000 behind in payments and am getting calls everyday from the financier. That put a fire under my ass and l just now upload quick clips on Facebook, IG, TikTok, and Snapchat, which have generated a few small orders within hours of posting. I don't want my equipment to get repoed, so am now posting daily. I suck at marketing myself, since my day job is helping others market theirs. But that's just an excuse. I live in Cali and one thing I'm going to do is print out sample lighter wraps for all the dispensaries in my area. I'll mail them and see if l get any hits. I have one dispensary client in my city and they've been great customers to help float me thru rough waters. Yeah, l would cut back on the frivolous spending and put that money into online advertising. Google adsense, IG posts, direct mail, etc. That's my plan, since l can't hit the streets like l used to. I'm a single father of 4 kids, so l know where you're coming from about not being able to let down those that rely on you. Long story short. Don't give up, Brutha! You got this!

@@mikesstickers Good to know, I have a old Roland gx-24 vinyl cutter, its works great, openend up software cut studio ver 2.1 from 2015, it has the feature to do perfcuts, I wished I knew this back in 2015. I would screen print stickers on Oracal 651 vinyl with solvent ink, would print Roland registration mark for optical eye on cutter, let dry and run through cutter, would get perfect kiss cut decals, I printed thousands , but I alway wanted to do die cut, This was the cheapest method to print stickers I found, solid color mostly, cost me about $0.05 in ink. Will most likely buy the 20a, will pick up where I left off in 2015, but with full color decals. Will keep you posted if gx-24 is good for perfcut.

Hey Mike, I have this printer C6500AU. I recently bought some label rolls that are 2 up. Two labels next to each other continuously on the entire roll. I normally use Corel Draw, where I design my labels and print from there directly; I do not have issues printing labels where they are single labels in a continuous feed. But I need help with labels being 2 up. The printer, after printing 2-3 labels stops, sends a message that the paper roll does not match!!

It's always the magenta for some reason on those media clamps. Also, here is a little tip. I use a cleaning cartridge and extract the cleaning fluid to clean all my machine. I don't do it as required either. Maybe once every 6 months to a year. Always good to see your videos. I get those drops outs here and there, then they swap to other colors. But as long as you keep on printing, they will all clear up.
